GENERAL Dawson Court was built as a dower house for Castle Dawson House. It had
three storeys over basement and had a Gibbsian arched doorway. In 1836 it was described as
being in perfect repair with stabling outhouses and coach house with a courtyard and fine garden.
It had three sitting rooms and five bedchambers as well as dressing rooms etc. The house was for
sale in 1907 described as a commodious house with ten rooms. It had a fruit garden and tennis
grounds.
YEAR BUILT circa 1790
VALUATION In 1863 the valuation was 46 pounds and in the 1901 census it is noted as
having 13 rooms occupied by family.
