GENERAL Italianate house designed by John McCurdy with a shared
gatelodge to Craigmore. Temple Hill gate lodge built c1865 & Temple Road gate lodge
built c1873 both probably again by John McCurdy. The house was rented out during the summer.
In 1905 The Lord Chancellor of Ireland & Lady Ashbourne rented it for the summer from
Lady Arnott. The Daughters of Charity of St Vincent de Paul gifted 4.5 acres of the land to the
council for social housing.
YEAR BUILT Work commenced in 1863 with an estimated cost of 6K
VALUATION In 1912 the valuation was 230 pounds.
NUMBER
OF ROOMS In the 1901 census it is noted as having 20 rooms occupied by family.
