NAME Hollyville/Hollyville School/Holly Park
AREA LOCATION New Grange road off Newtownpark Avenue.
MAP LOCATION OSI maps of 1838-1845 and 1898-1913 place it in the townland of Newpark
and it is annotated as Hollyville and Hollyville Park respectively. It also
appears on Taylors map of 1816 as Hollyville.
GENERAL Five bay square house on 22 acres with a long carriage avenue. Chimneys on either
side. Flight of steps to wooden covered veranda with return to rhs. In 1854 it was for sale with 8
bedrooms, 4 reception rooms with servants quarters, green houses, out offices and stabling on 7 acres.
It's entrance pillars survive with “The Orchard” on a granite plaque. Its gatelodge no longer survives.
