NAME Ashfield House/Ashfield
AREA LOCATION Stillorgan Road on what is now Woodbine House apartments opposite UCD
Belfield Campus.
MAP LOCATION OSI maps of 1838-1845 and 1898-1913 place it in the townland of Owenstown/
Trimlestown and it is annotated as Ashfield House on the 1898 map but
un-named in 1838.
GENERAL In 1874 it was for sale on six acres, it had three reception rooms and five
bedrooms. Within an enclosed courtyard there were stables, coach house and cow shed. It had
pleasure garden with a greenhouse and vinery. It was for sale in 1953 on 2.5 ares completely
enclosed by a wall.

VALUATION In the 1911 census it is noted as having 12 rooms occupied by family.
