NAME Belle Vue/Bellevue
AREA LOCATION Cross Avenue, Booterstown
MAP LOCATION OSI maps of 1838-1845 and 1898-1913 place it in the townland of
Williamstown and it is annotated as Belle Vue and Bellevue respectively.
GENERAL Georgian residence which was split into three, West Wing, Bellevue and
East Wing sometime after 1959. In 1818 it had stabling for four horses and a coach house with
space for 2 or 3 carriages and accommodation for servants above. The gatelodge had
disappeared by 1907.
YEAR BUILT circa 1770
VALUATION In 1883 the Valuation was 96 pounds and in the 1901 census it is noted as
having 19 rooms occupied by family.
ARCHITECT Unknown but extensive additions and alterations by John Lotfus Robinson c1874.
