NAME Peacefield/Peafield/Peafield House/Ben Inagh - Work in Progress
AREA LOCATION North East of Sion Hill College, Ben Inagh Park on Rock Road
MAP LOCATION OSI maps of 1838-1845 and 1898-1913 place it in the townland of Williamstown and
it is annotated as Peafield House on the 1838 map but un-named in 1898.
GENERAL Two storey, three bay, brick fronted house. Approached by a short carriageway and
three roomed gatelodge. It had an enclosed yard with stabling, poultry houses etc. In 1944 these features
were still extant and it was on 2 acres including a small field suitable for a pony and a lawn tennis court.
YEAR BUILT circa 1800
VALUATION In 1869 the valuation was 49 pounds and in the 1911 census it is noted as
having 14 rooms occupied by family.
