of Friarsland, Co. Dublin on 15 Jul 1619.' A house was built on the site circa 1800 called Roebuck
Grove (one of three Roebuck Groves in the area). In 1848 it was for sale described as a delightful,

upwards of 3k. It was supplied with baths water closets, placed in the centre of a beautiful lawn
interspersed with evergreens. The out offices, were a convenient distance from the house. It was

known as the Provincialate when owned by the RJM and was still in a good condition in the 1980s.

the Record of Protected Structures and is now in a derelict condition. Windows removed, the
entrance steps have been demolished but their surrounding decorative railings survive as does
the door.
