NAME Meyersville/Myers Ville/Myersville House/Wynberg House/Wynberg

MAP LOCATION OSI maps of 1838-1845 and 1898-1913 place it in the townland of
Mountashton and it is annotated as Myersville House and Wynberg
House respectively.
GENERAL Two storey non-basement with three roomed gate lodge built on
Castlefarm, part of the lands of Newtown Castlebyrne. It has a cantilever roof and two bay
projection with a pillared porch. The entrance was by a wide carriage drive. The name
was changed to Wynberg circa 1889. It had stabling for 4 horses, a coach house and a
conservatory. Described as a pretty residence, it was for sale in 1904 on 18 acres of
which 10 acres was let out and it still had it's 18 acres in 1920.
YEAR BUILT circa 1781
VALUATION No valuation found and in the 1901 census it is noted as having 7
rooms occupied by family.
