NAME Frescati Lodge/Fascati Lodge
AREA LOCATION Site of Blackrock Shopping Centre
MAP LOCATION OSI maps of 1838-1845 and 1898-1913 place it in the townland of Blackrock
but it is only annotated as Frescati Lodge on later maps.
GENERAL On maps it appears to be attached or a back to back house with Fitzwilliam
Lodge. In 1860 Fitzwilliam Lodge was described as having a small house with its own entrance
attached and being a continuation of the main house. On 1 acre when for sale in 1954.
YEAR BUILT circa 1800
VALUATION In 1891 the valuation was 32 pounds and in the 1911 census it is noted as
having 9 rooms occupied by family.
