Owenstown House
NAME Owenstown House
AREA LOCATION Owenstown Park, off Foster's Avenue.
MAP LOCATION OSI maps of 1838-1845 and 1898-1913 place it in the townland of Callary and it is
annotated as Owenstown House on both.
GENERAL Two storey over basement, three bay Georgian house with a breakfront housing a
Wyatt window, the rest of the fenestrations are timber twelve pane sash windows.
The door is timber with sidelights and an oversailing simple fanlight. It had a single
gatelodge (no longer extant). The house is currently in use as office accommodation.
YEAR BUILT circa 1780
VALUATION In 1921 the valuation was 103 pounds and in the 1901 census it is noted as having 15
rooms occupied by family.
