Richard Baldwin Falkiner of Glasnevin Lodge, son of Nathaniel Falkiner of Modreeny, County
Tipperary and Mary Ann Baldwin. He married Anne McIntire, daughter of Ninian Bogg McIntire
of Clover Hill at Clondalkin Church on 28 Aug 1851. Richard was a solicitor living at 46 Lower
Dominick Street with offices at 3 Inns Quay. His brother Frederick Baldwin Falkiner married his
wife’s stepsister Mary McIntire in 1867.
1 Anne McIntire Falkiner born circa 1852 was a lady Superintendent/Matron of a home in
Whitehall, Rathfarnham in 1901 was on the staff of the Royal City of Dublin Hospital and
died a spinster at Heathfield Road, Terenure on 12 Oct 1924.
2 Nathaniel Litton Falkiner born circa 1854 was a civil Engineer of Dominic Street. He
married Jane Edge, daughter of Charles Edge, grocer of Marlborough Street on 16 Feb 1876
at Dublin’s Registry Office. He was a member of Member of the Institution of Civil
Engineers of Ireland. Dublin. He moved to Fort Chalmers New Zealand and died in New
Zealand in 1922.
3 Ninian McIntyre Falkiner born 21 Jun 1857 in Dominick Street was an MD and a fellow of the
Royal College of Physicians in Ireland. He was living with his sisters, Robina, Rebecca &
Mary in 1911 at 67 Heathfield, Terenure Road. He died a bachelor at the Elphis Hospital on
30 Oct 1929 aged 72 years and was buried at Mount Jerome.
4 Henry Baldwin Falkiner third son born 29 Jan 1859 County Dublin married Euphemia (Effie)
McEwen daughter of Thomas McEwen of Rathgar on 12 Jun 1894 at Christchurch, Rathgar.
Henry was a solicitor and died aged 47 at The Grange, Terenure Road. His brother Ninian
M Falkiner of Molesworth Street was present at his death. He left 6K in personal estate.
Euphemia was born in Scotland circa 1870, she attended RUI Glasgow and graduated BA.
Euphemia died 29 Nov 1922 aged 52. Both were buried at Mount Jerome.
1 Frederick Ewen Baldwin Falkiner born 16 July 1895 at Greenogue, Terenure Road
was educated at St. Stephen's Green School, Dublin, St. Columba's College,
Rathfarnham and Trinity College. He joined ‘The Pals’ and served in WW1 and was
killed at Tyres on 21 Aug 1917. He was buried at Tyne Cot Cemetery, West Flanders,
Belgium.
2 George Stride Falkiner born 6 Sep 1897 at Greenogue. Terenure Road joined the
Royal Dublin Fusiliers, 2nd Battalion and served in WW1 and was KIA at Frezenburg
16 Aug 1917. He was buried at Tyne Cot Memorial Zonnebeke, West Flanders,
Belgium.
3 Ninian McIntyre Falkiner born 20 Feb 1900 at Greenogue, Terenure Road qualified
as a medical Doctor. He married Muriel Vere Odlum, daughter of William Perry
Odlum at Lea Church, Mountmellick om 5 Jan 1924. He was a specialist and
researcher in obstetrics and gynaecology and was Master of the Rotunda Hospital
from 1940 to 1947. They lived at Hollyville from 1946 to 1965. Ninian died
4 Nov 1972. Both Muriel and Ninian were buried at Mount Jerome.
4 Richard Hone Falkiner born 15 Aug 1903 at Grange Gorman Road. He married
Margaret Ann Spencer, daughter of John Spencer of the Knoll, Great Alme,
Warwickshire at Alcaster in 1933.
5 Rebecca Litton Falkiner born Blackrock circa 1860 died a spinster 20 Dec 1936 and was
buried at Mount Jerome.
6 Elizabeth Falkiner born circa 1862 died a spinster on 8 Feb 1910 at 17 Heathfield Road,
Terenure.
7 Marion Falkiner born 13 Oct 1864 at Waltham Tce, died in 1864.
8 Richard Baldwin Falkiner born 14 Mar 1867 at 31 Waltham Tce was sworn solicitor of the
Supreme Court in 1888. He married Alice Mabel Fairclough, daughter of Thomas
Fairclough of Dalkey on 5 Jun 1901 at Dalkey Parish Church. Richard was Registrar of the
Dublin City Court and died at Laurustinus Dundrum on 22 May 1922. Alice died on
29 Sep 1952 and was buried with husband and two of her sons at Mt Jerome.

in 1927.
2 Robert Travers Falkiner born 11 May 1904 at Laurustinus, Dundrum. Robert was a
solicitor working at 9 Sufolk Street for Hone & Falkiner. He married Sheelagh St John
Lyburn at St Ann's Church, Dublin on 12 Nov 1932. Sheelagh was the daughter of
Edward St John Lyburn, an engineer of Brayfort, Co Wicklow. Their reception was
held at the Leinster Hall of the Hibernia Hotel and they honeymooned in London and
Spain. Robert died at Ardmeen, Newtownpark Avenue on 20 Mar 1951.
3 Frederick Richard Falkiner third son born 11 Mar 1906 at Laurustinus graduated
Trinity MB and trained at Sir Patrick Dun's and took an appointment at Whitehaven
as Medical Officer. He died from TB on 20 Oct 1930 at Laurustinus and was buried at
Mt Jerome.
4 Henry Hone Falkiner born 1 Jan 1909 went to sea. He married Aileen Grace Allen
in Bengal, India on 15 May 1934. Aileen was the daughter of William Charles Allen.
She fell to her death from a window at her house in Notting Hill in 1955. Henry
secondly Myrtle C James in Hove in 1956. He died at 154 St Johns Road,
Meadowbank, Auckland, New Zealand on 28 Mar 1967.
9 John McIntire Falkiner born 1 May 1868 at Waltham Terrace. He was a medical Doctor and
travelled extensively. He married Geraldine Mary Chaloner-Smith at Bengal on 6 Nov 1934.
10 George Twibill Falkiner born 11 Aug 1869 at Waltham Terrace.
11 Robina Falkiner born 27 Sep 1870 at 31 Waltham Tce died a spinster 6 Jul 1939 and was
buried at Mount Jerome.
