Samuel Turner baptised at Booterstown on 31 Oct 1841 son of Christopher Turner, a labourer
and his wife Elizabeth. He married Bridget Cahill, daughter of Patrick Cahill, a labourer and
his wife Margaret Mangan at Booterstown Roman Catholic Church on 10 Jun 1867. Witnesses
John Callanan and John Deevey. Samuel was a labourer living in Stillorgan and Bridget was a
servant resident at Templehill, Blackrock at the time of their marriage. They were living at
Grove Avenue Stillorgan in 1901 and 1911. Samuel worked as an agricultural labourer and
Bridget took in washing. Samuel was interviewed by the newspaper for background information
when skeletal remains were found in Stillorgan Park. He told them that he had lived in the area
for 70 years and where the remains were found was not a burial ground during his lifetime.
Samuel died at Grove Cottage Stillorgan on 26 Jun 1913 and Bridget died 23 Nov 1921 at
Stillorgan. Both were buried at Deansgrange with their daughter Margaret. Plot: North/A4/34.
1 Elizabeth Turner born 12 Feb 1869 at Stillorgan. Lizzy was living at Herbert Terrace in
Bray and married Thomas Reilly on 21 Jun 1895 at Bray Roman Catholic Church. Thomas
the son of John Reilly and was a van driver. The Riellys lived at 3Hudson Terrace Bray in
1911.

2 Christopher Turner born 28 Jul 1870 a labourer lived and worked for Blaney Hamilton at
Lakelands from 1901 to 1908. He was a bachelor living with his parents at Stillorgan Grove
in 1911. Christopher died a bachelor on 22 Oct 1944 at Loughlinstown Hospital, late of Hill
Cottages, Stillorgan and was buried at Deansgrange. West/M2/49
3 Patrick Turner born 25 Sep 1872 living with his parents in 1901. He married Sarah Anne
Reynolds at Booterstown Church on 10 Jun 1901. Sarah was the daughter of Patrick Reynolds,
a labourer and his wife Annie. They family were living at Stradbrook village in 1911 and
Sarah's mother was living with them. Patrick was a herd and gardener to Lady
Fitzgerald-Arnott at Dunardagh. She arranged possession of the back lodge at Dunardagh
for Patrick and eight of his children in 1928. Patrick died 18 Jun 1934 at Dunardagh Lodge
and was buried at Deansgrange. Sarah died at Loughlinstown Hospital late of Dunardagh
Lodge on 22 Oct 1945 and was buried with her husband.
1 Samuel Joseph born 12 May 1902 at Holles Street (parents resident at 50 Georges
Avenue). He married Mary Caul at Blackrock Church on 22 Jun 1926. Mary was
the daughter of James Caul, labourer and James was working as a motor driver.

3 Patrick Christopher Turner born 27 Dec 1904 at 6 Stradbrook Cottages was a
labourer. He died a bachelor at Annaville Avenue, Newtown Park 20 Nov 1926
and was buried at Deansgrange.
4 Bridget Agnes Eva Turner born 31 Mar 1906 at 6 Stradbrook Cottages.
5 Eleanor Mary Turner born 29 Dec 1907. Ellen married James Coakelin at St John the
Baptist Church on 26 July 1930. James was a dairy man of Yankee Terrace and the
son of Henry Coakelin
6 Elizabeth Mary Turner born 8 Mar 1909 at 6 Stradbrook Cottages married John
Matthews at John the Baptist Church on 16 Oct 1933. John was a breadman driver
and the son of John Matthews.
7 Joseph Cuthbert Turner born 20 Mar 1911 at 6 Stradbrook Cottages. Joseph was
a gardener and married Margaret Fay on 11 Jun 1929 at John the Baptist Church,
Blackrock. Margaret was resident at Kerriemuir, Stillorgan Park and the daughter
of Patrick Fay, a labourer.
8 Veronica Turner born 23 Jan 1913 at 6 Stradbrook Cottages married James Doyle
John the Baptist Church, Blackrock on 20 Jan 1935. James was a garage employee
and the son of Christopher Doyle, a fisherman.
9 Margaret Mary Turner born 21 Oct 1915 at 6 Stradbrook Cottages. She married
Thomas Duff on at Blackrock Church on 26 Dec 1939.
10 Sarah Turner born 22 Jan 1918 at Newtown Park, Blackrock married James Denny
on 1 Aug 1938 at Blackrock Church. James was a van driver and the son of John
Denny.
11 Bernard Turner born 4 Nov 1920. He was living at Dunardagh Lodge and married
Maggie Coady on 16 Aug 1944 at Blackrock Church. Maggie was the daughter of
Michael Coady, a butcher.
4 Margaret Turner born 27 Jan 1875 at Stillorgan died 5 Oct 1888 at St Michael’s Hospital from
Typhoid and was buried at Deansgrange.
5 Michael Turner born 8 Jun 1877 at Stillorgan was a RN pensioner in 1911 living with his
parents at Stillorgan Grove. By 1914 he and retuned to the Nelson Fleet. He was an acting
leading seaman and transferred to duty under Vice Admiral at Mudros in 1915. He received
the 1914 Star to HMS Impregnable in 1919. Michael of Grove View married Mary Pender at
Kilmacud Church on 29 Jun 1919. Mary was a servant and the daughter of Francis Pender, a
car driver. Michael died at South Union Work House on 26 Mar 1928 late of Kilmacud Road
and was buried at Deansgrange. Plot: West/Z2/44. Mary died 5 Mar 1961 at 26 St Laurence’s
Park, Stillorgan.

7 Samuel Turner born circa 28 May 1883 at Stillorgan. He worked as an attendant at Dundrum
Asylum. He married Anne MacDermott on 14 Jun 1923 at St Mary’s Church, Booterstown.
Anne was the daughter of George MacDermott, a builder. He died at Loughlinstown Hospital
late of 6 Beaufield Park on 21 Oct 1958 and was buried at Deansgrange. Annie died at 6
Beaufield Park 19 Aug 1971.
