William Robert Robertson, son of Robert Robertson and Margaret Home baptised on 2 Mar 1761 at
Eyemouth. William was a merchant of Eyemouth and married Margaret Jameson on 24 Feb 1801 at
Alloa. Margaret was the daughter of John Jameson and Margaret Haig. Margaret died at Alloa on
3 August 1805 and was buried at Alloa. William died at Eyemouth in 7 Jul 1833 and was buried with
his wife at Alloa Churchyard.
1 Robert Robertson born 15 May 1802 at Eyemouth married Alicia Catherine Eustace at Clifton
on 18 Feb 1827. Alicia was the eldest daughter of the Rev Charles Eustace of Robertstown,
Co Kildare. Robert was Advocate Sheriff of Stirlingshire and died at Airfield, Donnybrook on
25 Aug 1865 aged 63 and was buried at Stillorgan. Alicia died at Airfield on 25 Jan 1878 aged
75 and was also buried at Stillorgan.
1 Robert Jameson Eustace Robertson born 8 Jan 1828 in Scotland joined the army and
attained the rank of Colonel. He took the additional name Eustace and died
1 Apr 1889.
2 Alicia Trimleston Robertson born 2 Jun 1829 married James Jameson, son of James
Jameson on 10 Jan 1849 at Montgreenan, Scotland. They had ten children who were
born at Airfield, Donnybrook. James died 16 Oct 1889 at St Leonards-on-Sea, Sussex.
Alicia died 10 Jan 1916 in England.
3 Charles Robertson born 7 May 1840 in Scotland died 24 May 1857.
2 John Jameson Robertson, born 19 Jan 1804 at Eyemouth, Berwick, Scotland was a distiller. He
married Mary Anne Cairnes on 27 Feb 1837 at St Mary’s Church, Drogheda. Mary Anne
Cairnes born 15 Oct 1815, the eldest daughter of William Cairnes, brewer of Drogheda. John
was a member of the RDS from 1835. They lived at Gledswood in Roebuck from 1856 and John
was listed as the owner of 960 acres in Dublin and Kilkenny in 1876. He was a proprietor of
Robertson Jameson, distillers of Marrowbone Lane. He was a director of the National Assurance
Company of Ireland, The Dublin & Kingstown Railway Company, Dublin Port & Docks and Dublin
Steam Packet Company. John died 18 Mar 1882 and was buried at Mount Jerome. John left 60K
in personal estate plus personal estate in England. Mary Anne died 16 May 1899 and was buried
at Mt Jerome with John.
1 William Robertson born 10 Apr 1838 at 50 Harcourt Street baptised at Peter’s married
Margaret Jameson at the Maple's Hotel (registered in St Anne’s Parish) on 26 Oct 1870.
Margaret was the daughter of Henry Jameson of Hermitage in Roebuck. They were
living at Hermitage by 1894. The couple had no children. William was a director of the
Bank of Ireland and a shareholder of The Dublin Steam Packet Company. Margaret
died 28 Oct 1922 aged 72 at Hermitage and William died 21 Sep 1929 at Hermitage.
They were buried at the family grave at Mt Jerome.
2 James Jameson Robertson (twin) born 22 Apr 1839 at Harcourt Street baptised at St
Peter’s. James joined the Royal Engineers and was appointed assistant instructor in field
fortifications at Brompton Barracks. He drowned in a yachting accident on the River
Medway at Chatham on 6 Sep 1867. His body wasn’t recovered.
3 Robert Jameson Robertson 3rd (twin) son born 22 April 1839 at Harcourt Street
admitted to The Irish Bar in 1863. He married Minna Adeline Belcher on 3 Sep 1873
at St Bridget’s Church, Wavertree, Liverpool. Minna was the fourth daughter of
Michael Belcher, a merchant of Holmstead, Messley Hill near Liverpool. Robert died
8 Apr 1894 at 9 Fitzwilliam Place. The funeral service was held at St Anne’s Church and
he was interred at Mount Jerome. Minna moved to Temple Road and then to Ashurst,
Mount Merrion Avenue. She died 8 Dec 1934 aged 84 and was interred with her husband.
1 John Harold Robertson born 20 Jul 1874 died 11 Aug 1874.
2 Helen Robertson born circa 1876 living with her mother at Ashurst, Mount
Merrion in 1911.
3 Blanche Adeline Robertson born 4 Feb 1877 at 21 Lower Baggot Street, baptised
at Christ Church, Leeson Park married Philip Cahill Sheridan youngest son of
Philip Sheridan, late Post Master General of Punjab in November 1906 at All Saints
Cathedral, Allahabad, India.
4 Alice Maude Robertson born 28 Jun 1879 and died 9 Feb 1880.

4 Mary Anne Robertson born 2 Jan 1842 at 50 Harcourt Street baptised at St Peter died a
spinster on 1 May 1901 at Pau, France late of 1 Selwood Place, South Kensington and
Gledswood, Clonskeagh. She left 10K in personal estate and 2K was gifted to Girton
College, Cambridge for a scholarship in the name of her uncle John Eliott Cairnes.
5 Helen Robertson born circa 1843 married Canon Maurice Hodson Neligan of Leeson Park
at Paddington, London in 1899. Maurice died in 1906 and Helen died at Enys Road,
Eastbourne aged 84 on 23 Feb 1926.
6 John Albert Robertson youngest son born 1853 joined the Royal Horse Artillery. He married
Frances Octavia Caroline Wynn on 29 Jun 1881 at St Matthias’s Church, Dublin. Frances was
the youngest daughter of Captain John Wynne of Wynnstay, Roebuck. John attained the rank
of Major and was stationed at Preston Barracks, Brighton and they lived at Stroun Hill,
Delgany, Co Wicklow. John died 14 Dec 1928 and was buried at Delgany cemetery. Frances
died in July 1949 and was buried with her husband.
1 Frederick Wynn Robertson born circa 1885. He was a magistrate and commissioner
in India. Sir Frederick died at Dromore, Portland Rad, Greystones on 24 Nov 1864
aged 79 and was buried with his parents.
7 Susan Alice Robertson born 29 Jun 1854 at Whitehall baptised at Glasnevin. She was a member
of the RHS and a frequent winner of competitions. Susan died 13 Nov 1943 at Gledswood and
left nearly 15K in personal estate.
3 William Robertson born 28 Jul 1805 took Holy orders and was the incumbent of New Grey friars Parish
in Edinburgh. He married Georgiana Touchet, daughter of John Cossins and Elizabeth Cossins of
Weymouth. He died 21 Feb 1882 in Edinburgh.
