The Jameson Family of Montrose, Airfield, Campfield House and Taney House
James was the son of John Jameson and Margaret Haig of Scotland who founded the famous distillery
in Dublin. James was elected a member of the RDS in 1811. He bought the estates of Windfield in Co
Galway in the early 1820’s and built Montrose in Donnybrook. James was a director of the
Bank of Ireland.

Galway on 16 Aug 1872 age 56 and was buried at Stillorgan. He left personal estate
of 25K.

Robertson, daughter of Robert Robertson and Alicia Catherine Eustace on 10 Jan 1849
at Montgreenan, Stirlingshire in Scotland.
Alicia's father Robert was Advocate Sheriff of Stirlingshire and died at Airfield,
Donnybrook 25 Aug 1865 aged 63 and was buried at Stillorgan. Her mother Alicia
died at Airfield on 25 Jan 1878 aged 75 and was also buried at Stillorgan.
James late of Airfield, Donnybrook died 16 Oct 1889 at St Leonards on Sea leaving 88K in
personal estate. Alicia died on 10 Jan 1916 at 28 Longford Terrace, Monkstown and was
buried at Mount Jerome.
1 James Robert Jameson born 4 Feb 1849 at Renfrew House, Donnybrook was
educated at Emmanuel College, Sandringham. He joined the Royal Irish Fusiliers
and attained the rank of Colonel. He married Sophia Theodora Magdalin Marthe
(Martha) Flörke in 1880 at Hanover in Germany. Sophia died 1 Oct 1915 at Eden
Park, Kingstown and was buried at Stillorgan. James died 22 Mar 1924 at
Somerset.

2 William Frederick Jameson born 27 Jan 1851 at Airfield was educated at Trinity
College, Cambridge. He married Ida Wolseley Haig, daughter of Henry Haig on
3 Aug 1876 at Christchurch Kensington. Ida had a miscarriage and died from
septicaemia at Airfield, in Donnybrook on 25 Jul 1882 aged 26 and was buried
at Mount Jerome.

William secondly married Blanche Violet Masmyth MacBen at Kensington, London
on 27 Oct 1887. They lived at Campfield, Dundrum until 1890 when they moved to
England. William died 5 Aug 1930 in Chiswick.
3 John Eustace Jameson born 22 Mar 1852 at Airfield was educated at the Royal
Military Academy at Sandhurst and was a Major in the Worcestershire Yeomanry and
served during WW1. He married Mary Elizabeth Barrett Bond-Cabbell on 22 Jul 1875 at
St George's, Hanover Square. He was the London manager of Jameson’s Whiskey
before taking on the role of Managing Director of the Dublin Distillery Company. He was
MP for the West Division of the County Clare. They lived at 6 Mark Lane, London and also
lived at Taney House Dundrum from 1899 to 1904. They had ten children all of whom
were born in England. John died 21 Dec 1919 at Brentford Middlesex leaving personal
estate of 20K which he left to his wife and children.
4 Alicia Katherine Nina Jameson born 1853 died 31 May 1855 aged 18 months interred
at Stillorgan.
5 Sydney Bellingham Jameson born 1 Mar 1857 at Airfield attended Eton College,
Cambridge. He served with the Seaforth Highlanders and attained the rank of
Brigadier General. He married Ethel Theodora Greenway in Warwickshire on
8 Aug 1887. They travelled quite extensively and had seven children, two of whom
were born in Ireland. Sydney died 10 Oct 1932 in London.
6 Helen Lucy Jameson born 14 Aug 1861 at Dublin died on 3 Nov 1883 at Airfield.
7 Alice Arabella Jameson born 14 Aug 1861 married Lieut Col George Stanley Byng
later 8th Viscount Torrington. She died 18 Dec 1883, 12 days after giving birth to a son.
Mother and son were buried at Mount Jerome.
8 Mabel Elizabeth Jameson born 10 Jun 1864 at Airfield died 28 Nov 1865 aged 17
months and was buried at Stillorgan.
9 Charles O’Brien Jameson born 22 Mar 1866 at Airfield was educated at Eton College
Cambridge. He was a Captain in the Royal Irish Rifles. He married Georgia Philippa
Isabella Violet Rawdon McNamara, daughter of Rawdon McNamara at St Peter’s
Church, Dublin on 6 Mar 1890. Georgina died 16 Dec 1891 shortly after the birth of
her son at her father’s residence on Stephen’s Green.

2 Charles Edward Eustace Jameson born 4 Dec 1891 at 95 St Stephens’s Green.
Charles moved to Monkstown and secondly married Norah Eliza Mary Marvel Eager
on 1 Jul 1901 at St John’s Newcastle, Co Down. Charles died 17 Nov 1952 at
Castlebellingham, Co Louth.
3 Norah O’Brien Sydney Jameson born 21 Nov 1902 at Sloperton Lodge,
Kingstown.
10 Ida Isobel Jameson 12 Feb 1870 at Airfield married Robert Boeufré at St Paul’s Church,
St Leonard on Sea on 31 Jul 1889. Robert was with the French Consulate. The couple
moved to Paris and had two children. Ida died on 19 Apr 1945 at Brideford in Devon.
1 Claudine Alicia Boeufré died 16 Dec 1891 at Airfield, Donnybrook aged four
months.
4 Mary Anne Jameson born 10 Jan 1824 at Windfield, Galway.
5 Robert O'Bryen Jameson born 17 Jun 1828 at Montrose, Dublin.
