1 Margaret Haig eldest daughter born circa 1752 married John Jameson and moved to Dublin.
2 Robert Haig fourth son born 4 Apr 1764 was baptised at Alloa on 8 Apr 1764. The Dodderbank
Distillery was owned by the Haig family from circa 1795. It is thought to have been on the site
of what is now the Mount Herbert Hotel occupying 21 acres close to Flora Villa. By 1802 it
was one of the largest distilleries in Dublin. The distillery had become notorious by reason
of its frequent conflicts with the Revenue authorities over breach of the Revenue Laws and
short payment of excise duties and the Revenue frequently seized spirits in lieu. It was forced
to close by the Revenue Commissioners circa 1839. Robert married Caroline Mary Wolesley,
sixth daughter of Sir William Wolesley of Staffordshire on 7 Aug 1798 at Colwich, Staffordshire.
Robert had land at Killan, Co Cavan and lived at Roebuck from 1825 to 1833. They had thirteen
children, three of whom died in infancy. Caroline Mary died at Roebuck on 10 Jul 1833 aged 54
and was buried at Donnybrook graveyard. Robert was nominated as a candidate in the local
elections of 1826 but declined the offer. He died 19 Sep 1845 late of Linden, Stillorgan Park in
Gardiner Street aged 82 and was buried at Donnybrook with his wife.
1 John Haig, eldest son born circa 1799 in Dublin married Jane Haig, third daughter of
John Haig of Bonnington near Edinburgh on 6 Sep 1825 at Bonnington. They lived at
Flora Ville, near Donnybrook in 1828 and his office was 8 South cope Street when he
put the house up for sale in 1829. John was in charge of the distillery at Dodderbanks.
John died at Cork on 6 Mar 1837 aged 39. Jane died 28 Sep 1883 at Middlesex.
2 Charlotte Haig, eldest daughter married Thomas Haig of Bonnington, near Edinburgh
at Taney Church on 25 Sep 1828.
1 George Jameson Haig infant son died at Roebuck on 20 Oct 1832.
3 Caroline Haig, second daughter married the Rev Charles Benjamin Love at Edgbaston,
near Birmingham on 5 Dec 1837 at Edgbaston Church.
4 Maria Haig third and youngest daughter married James Oldham Oldham of Bellamore
Hall, Staffordshire and Wingrave, Bucks on 19 Mar 1833 at Taney. Maria died at Kilburn,
Middlesex on 5 Dec 1863, her brother Henry was her executor.
5 William Haig, second son born circa 1805 in Dublin married Harriette Anna Maria Porter
Dick only child of Jeremiah Dick of North Crescent Belford Square at St George’s Hanover
square on 30 Aug 1849. They lived at Belmont, near Mullingar. William died 11 Aug 1862
at 8 North Crescent, Bedford Square, Middlesex and left £300 in personal estate.

Anna secondly married James E Baker, medical superintendent of the Persian Telegraph
Establishment on 19 Aug 1867 at Marylebone Church, London.
6 Charles Haig third son born circa 1810 called to the bar in 1834. He published a number
of papers including one on the Irish municipal acts. Charles married Mary Reeves, eldest
daughter of Boles Reeves of Linden, Stillorgan Park at Stillorgan Church on 23 Aug 1842.
Charles was dangerously ill a month after his marriage and the papers announced his
death in error. Charles died 1 Feb 1847 at Lower Gardiner Street and was buried at
Donnybrook Graveyard. The house and furniture at Gardiner Street were sold after his
death. Mary lived with her brother in law William's family before going to France in 1853.
They settled in London and Mary died 2 Sep 1902 at Middlesex.

13 Sep 1876 at St George’s Canterbury.

7 James Haig, fourth son born circa 1813 in Dublin was a barrister at Lincoln Inns.
He married Helen Jane Fell, at Edinburgh in April 1848. Helen Jane was the daughter
of M E Fell of Cadogan Place. James was based in Edinburgh in 1845 and was living at
Moyglass in Co Galway from 1874 to 1885. He died 13 Dec 1891 at Edinburgh.
8 Robert Haig born circa 1817 in Dublin took Holy orders and went to Armagh as
chaplain to the Gaol and workhouse and curate to St Mark’s Church Armagh. He
married Matilda Oldham, daughter of James Oldham Oldham of Bellamour Hall,
Staffordshire on 27 Jan 1847 at St Mary’s Colton. He died in April 1847.
9 Henry Alexander Haig born circa 1818 married Ann Meyer, eldest daughter of Edward B
Meyer of East Sheen at Mortlake, Surrey on 14 Dec 1854. He had a distillery at
Hammersmith.
1 Ida Wolesley Haig born circa 1855 married William Frederick Jameson, son of
James Jameson of Airfield, Donnybrook on 3 Aug 1876 at Christ Church,
Lancaster Gate, Kensington.
Henry secondly married Agnes Catherine Pollock, daughter of Matthew Bailie Pollock,
MD on 1 Jun 1865 at St Stephen's Church, London. Henry died 21 Oct 1897.
2 Alfred Edward Haig born 3 Jun 1866, eldest son married Lottie Everilda
Dundas. He joined the army and attained the rank of Major. He was a POW
during WW1.
10 George Augustus Haig youngest son born circa 1820 at Roebuck. He married Annie Fell.
He was a JP and High Sheriff of Radnorshire, Wales in 1864. He died 30 Aug 1906 at
Radnorshire and left 14K in personal estate.
