John Jameson was involved with Bow Street Distillery of Dublin in the early 1800s. He married
Isabella Stein on 3 Oct 1802. By 1825 he was the sole owner of the distillery.

4 William Jameson born 2 Feb 1811, Dublin died 20 Nov 1886, Tunbridge Wells age 75.

6 Magdalen Jameson born 3 Oct 1814, Dublin died circa 1838 age 23.
7 Henry Jameson, born 4 May 1817 in Dublin, son of John Jameson and Isabella Stein of Scotland.
He married Margaret Phelp, daughter of Andrew Phelp of Kirkaldy on 4 Nov 1847 at Kirkaldy. He
sold the Marlfield Distillery outside Clonmel in 1856 and moved to Hermitage in Roebuck. It is
not clear how he acquired this distillery but it had been owned by John Stein in the 1820’s who
was probably related to his mother. He was living at the brewery in 1848 when his first child was
born. The business had been very successful but suffered losses post famine during the
temperance movement. He became a partner in his father’s company - John Jameson & Co.
Margaret died at Villa Irene, Pau, France in on 18 May 1901 and Henry died same place on
25 Jun 1901.
1 Daughter born Sept 1848 at Marlfield Distillery died an infant.
2 Margaret Jameson, born 1 Jul 1851, at Marlfield distillery and eldest daughter married
William Robertson son of John Jameson Robertson of Gledswood, Milltown by special
licence at the Maples Hotel, Kildare Street (parish of St Anne) on 26 Oct 1870. William
was born 10 Apr 1838 and was a banker, he was executor of Henry Jameson’s estate and
responsible for the liquidation of John Jameson & Co and the incorporation of John
Jameson & Son in 1902. He was also a nephew of Thomas Plunket Cairnes, chairman
of Castlebellingham and Drogheda Breweries who lived at Monkstown Park. William
and Margaret had no children. Margaret died 26 Oct 1922 and William died
21 Sep 1929 and both are buried at Mount Jerome.
3 Isabella Mary Jameson, second daughter born circa 1853 at Tipperary married George
Masters Cardew, son of Cornelius Cardew on 6 Mar 1872 at Taney Church. Isabella died
on 8 Jun 1890 at 132 Warwick Street London SW.
1 Alice Lorna Cardew, youngest daughter married Albert John Robertson son of
Major James Albert Robertson of Struan Hill, Delgany at Taney Church on
26 Oct 1909.
4 Helen Robertson Jameson born circa 1854 died 3 Jun 1863 at Hermitage age 9.
5 John George Jameson born circa 1855 in Tipperary joined the family business. He
married Eleanor Mary McGrath, the daughter of Henry Marsh Septimus McGrath at
St Peters Dublin on 1 Jun 1886. They had three children. Eleanor who was born in India
died at Seamount Malahide on 7 Jul 1924 age 59 and John died same place 11 Jan 1945
age 90.
1 John Francis Jameson born 16 Jul 1887 married Sheelagh Tobin at Greystone in
1917 and died 29 Nov 1958, The Pins, Baily.
2 Hilda Jameson born circa 18 Dec 1890 at 13 Smithfield.
3 Victoria Ina Jameson born c1897 died 19 Feb 1954 London.
6 Henry Robert James, second son born 4 Aug 1857 at Hermitage, Roebuck. He married
Violet Adelaide Wheeler on 14 Apr 1904 at St John the Evangelist Church in Mentone.
Violet was the younger daughter of Alfred Llewelyn Wheeler, late 9th Lancers and
Elizabeth Cosier of Stafford Mansions, Buckinghamshire. Henry died at Baily, Malahide
on 24 Aug 1938 age 81. His son in law John Elliot Cairnes of Raheny the informant.
