James Vaughan of Mary’s Abbey married Honoria Brady of Old Castle, Co Meath in 1820.
Honoria was the daughter of Hugh and Elizabeth Brady of Old Castle, Co Meath. James
a solicitor of 29 Jervis Street died at his residence on 25 May 1855 and was buried at
Glasnevin. Honoria died 15 Feb 1876, at Legga House, Navan, Co Meath.

3 Amelia Margaret Vaughan baptised at the Pro Cathedral on 8 Feb 1824.
4 Hugh Vaughan born circa 1826 in Dublin. Hugh of 6 Gloucester Street married
Catherine Taaffe on 4 Jun 1861 at St Michan’s Church, North Anne Street.
Catherine was the eldest daughter of Christopher Kelly Taaffe of Ryefield House,
Roscommon and Mary Murphy. She was the granddaughter of Michael Lynch
of Grenagh. She was also the granddaughter of Patrick Taaffe of Foxborough,
Co Roscommon. Kate was a supporter of St Vincent de Paul and involved in
organising fundraising bazaars at the Rotunda.
Hugh was a JP and they lived at Rosemount Booterstown from 1867 to 1870,
9 Ailesbury Road from 1871 to 1888 and at 42 Northumberland Road from 1891.
Hugh took the additional surname Brady at some point. Hugh Brady Vaughan
died 24 Oct 1896 at Northumberland Road, his son in law Henry Charles Lynch
the informant. He was buried at Glasnevin. Kate continued to live at
Northumberland Road and died there on 20 Dec 1916 and was buried at
Glasnevin.
1 Henry Joseph Vaughan born 3 May 1862 at 67 Blessington Street
baptised at St Michan’s. Henry Vaughan eldest son born circa 1863 in
Dublin City graduated the University of Dublin and was called to the Bar in
1888. Henry died unmarried on 24 Aug 1918 at Northumberland Road,
his brother Herbert his executor. He was buried at Glasnevin.
2 Charles Vaughan born 5 Aug 1863 at 10 Great Denmark Street baptised at
the Pro Cathedral.
3 Alicia Vaughan born 30 Sep 1864 at 10 Great Denmark Street baptised at
the Pro Cathedral. Alice Mary Vaughan eldest daughter Road married
Henry Charles Lynch on 28 Jan 1888 at the Church of the Sacred Heart,
Donnybrook. Henry was a barrister and the third son of Stanislaus J
Lynch of Clyde Road.
4 William Vaughan born 28 Oct 1865 at 10 Great Denmark Street baptised
at the Pro Cathedral.
5 Emilia (Emily) Maria Vaughan second daughter born 19 Jan 1867 at
Rosemount baptised at Booterstown. Emily married Charles Humphry
Stacpoole on 14 Feb 1899 at St Mary’s Church, Haddington Road. Charles
was the eldest son of Stephen Stacpoole of Rockford House, King’s County.
By 1911 they were living in Tipperary and had two children both of whom
survived. Charles was a bank manager and died in 1929. Emily died in
Bray in 1955.
6 Herbert Hugh Vaughan born 21 Jun 1868 at Rosemount, Booterstown was
baptised at Booterstown on 2 Jul 1868. He was a bank clerk in 1901 and an
unmarried bank official in 1911. Herbert as surviving son died unmarried
at 89 Pembroke Road on 29 Nov 1939 aged 71 and was buried at Glasnevin.
7 Maria Mabel Vaughan born 12 Feb 1871 at Ailesbury Road, baptised at St
Mary’s. Mabel youngest daughter married Henry Joseph Maguire on
15 Apr 1896 at St Mary’s Haddington Road. Henry was the second son of
John Francis Maguire, MP of Cork. They were living at Anglesea Road in
1911. Henry was a civil servant, clerk of judgements, writs and records and
two of their three children survived. Henry died 9 Dec 1939 at St John of
God Stillorgan, late of Sandford Road. Mabel died on 3 Oct 1943 at Sandford
Road, Clonskea.
5 Carolina born circa 1827, as only surviving daughter married Charles Mackey on
25 Sep 1849 at 29 Jervis Street. The marriage was registered at the Pro Cathedral.
Charles was the youngest son of Stephen Mackey.
6 Captain James William Vaughan baptised at the Pro Cathedral on 2 Jun 1828
CB, RN of Stradbrook Hall.
7 Edward Vaughan youngest son born circa 1829 died 10 Nov 1840 aged 11 from
water on the brain and was buried at Glasnevin.
