John Morgan born circa 1868 son of William Morgan. He was a farmer from Longford when
he married Jane Swift at Granard on 8 Aug 1882. Jane was the daughter of Richard Swift, a
labourer. They were living in Kilmacud in 1911 and John was working as a gardener. John
died 2 Jan 1924 at Kilmacud Road. John died 2 Jan 1924 in Stillorgan and is buried at
Deansgrange. Jane was living at Toolin's Cottages on the Kilmacud Road in 1926. Jane died
20 Jan 1936 at Kilmacud Road and is buried with her husband.
1 Elizabeth Jane (Lizzy) Morgan was born in Dublin city on 12 April 1884. She was a
housemaid in Mount Merrion House. She married John Thornton of Mount Merrion
cottages on 29 Jun 1907. They were married at Kill Parish church by the Rector of
Stillorgan and lived at Drommartin Terrace. John died in 1946 and Lizzy died in 1974
at 4 Drummartin Terrace. Both were buried at Deansgrange.

and was buried at Deansgrange.
2 Arthur Ernest Thornton born 4 Nov 1908 at Neilstown, Kilmacud was baptised at
St Brigid’s, Stillorgan. He married Mary White at Blackrock RC Church in 1937.
3 Hubert John Thornton was born 5 Dec 1909 at Neilstown, Kilmacud at baptised
at St Brigid’s, Stillorgan. Hubert died in 1975 at Drummartin Terrace.
4 James Henry Thornton was born 28 Mar 1913 at Neilstown, Kilmacud and
baptised at St Brigid’s, Stillorgan died 25 Apr 1913 and was buried at Deansgrange.
5 Donald William Thornton was born 19 May 1914 at Neilstown, Kilmacud and
baptised at St Brigid’s, Stillorgan.
2 Kate Francis (sic) Morgan was born 25 May 1885 at Mount Temple, Clontarf. She was
living at 4 Cullen’s Cottages, Kilmacud when she married Robert Henry White, a gardener of
4 Glen Albyn Cottages and son of Michael White and Jane Northcote on 1 Jul 1915 at Stillorgan
Parish Church. Kate died at 1 Grange Cottages, Stillorgan on 27 Jan 1937 and was buried at
Deansgrange and Robert died at 26 Dodder Road, Rathfarnham 12 Mar 1953 and was buried
with his wife.
1 Victor Henry White born 1 Jul 1915* in Stillorgan. He married Irene Hennen at
Rathfarnham in 1937.

4 Robert George Morgan born 5 Dec 1891 baptised Stillorgan parish Church. He was a gardener,
of 5 Cullen’s cottages, Stillorgan and married Catherine (Katie) Dunden on the 5 Mar 1913 at
Stillorgan parish church. Katie was the daughter of Martin Dunden. Robert was working for
William Gregory in 1916. They had a least seven children and they lived ar 6 Pender's
Cottages. Rober later worked as a builder's labourer for a contractor.

2 Kathleen Frances (Kate) Morgan born 18 Feb 1916 at Stillorgan. Of 2 Pender's
Cottages, she married Cecil William George Welland, a general man working at Tig
Lorcain Hall at St Brigid's Church on 28 Oct 1936. Cecil was the son of Richard
Welland, a land steward.

Edward of 4 Kilmacud Road (Toolins Cottages) married Jane Elizabeth Jolley daughter of
Richard Jolley of 5 Kilmacud Road at St Brigid’s Church, Stillorgan. Jane died in 1934 and
is buried at Deansgrange.
Edward married secondly, Mary Walmsley of The Grange on 13 Aug 1936 at St Brigid’s
Church Stillorgan. Edward was a gardener at Burton Hall from 1926. He was living at Burton
Hall lodge and died in 1956. He is buried at Stillorgan with his wife Mary.
