John Jolley, dairyman of Stillorgan, father of George and Christopher.
1 George Jolley born circa 1846. He was a labourer living at Kilmacud when he married
Anne Whitty, a servant living at Williamstown at Booterstown RC Church on 23 April 1873.
Anne died in 1875 aged 29 and he married Elizabeth Jones on 17 Oct 1880 at St James
RC Church. He was the Station inspector with the Great Southern and Western Railway
based at Kingscross Terminus. He had worked for the company 40 years until his death.
He died 21 Apr 1914 at 36 Connaught Tce, Montpelier Hill. Requiem Mass held at St Paul's
Arran Quay and he was buried at St James' graveyard. Elizabeth died 7 May 1914 at
High Road, Kilmainham, the residence of her niece Lizzy Deegan and was buried at St James'
graveyard. George left 1.3K in personal estate and his brother Christopher was the
administrator. The death notice asked American newspapers to copy.

John Jolly, born circa 1797. As a widower and dairyman of Stillorgan and son of Robert Jolley he
married Sarah Persse (Pearce) of 13 James' Place daughter of Samuel Persse on 24 May 1852
at St Peters, Dublin. John Jolly died at his residence in Kilmacud, Stillorgan 7 Jul 1878, age 81.
He was married twice. He was buried at Stillorgan Graveyard. Informant Alicia Jolley. Sarah
died 7 Jun 1887 at Stillorgan aged 53 and was buried at Stillorgan, her daughter Sarah the
informant. They lived in the village in the house that was the old police station. He had a son
Thomas from his previous marriage who died aged 19 in 1852 and was buried at Stillorgan
graveyard.

2 Sarah Jolly born circa 1865 died 30 Apr 1912 last surviving daughter of John & Sarah Jolly
was a dairy proprietor of Stillorgan and was buried at Stillorgan graveyard. Her nephew
Samuel Jolley the informant.
3 Daniel Jolly born 4 Feb 1866 at Kilmacud.
4 Mary Jane Jolley born 18 Jul 1868 at Stillorgan. A dairymaid she died 27 Jun 1890 age 21
at Kilmacud and was buried at St Brigid's Stillorgan. (Thomas Jolley the informant)
5 Julia Jolly born 8 Sep 1870 at Stillorgan, buried at Stillorgan graveyard 19 Jun 1871.

living at Stillorgan and a labourer and son of Thomas Flynn 10 May 1853 at Stillorgan
Parish Church.

Hester Massy, a servant living at Bray and daughter of Richard Massy, farmer at Stillorgan Parish
Church (C of I) on 17 Jul 1856.

from Co Kildare on 1 Sep 1874 at Registrars Office at Coleraine. Both were servants working at
Portstewart. He had various jobs as coachman, steward and in 1882 was the manager of Whitechurch
Laundry, Rathfarnham. He died a Laundry proprietor/ painter of Williams Cottage, Stillorgan on
5 Nov 1887 at the Adelaide Hospital aged 38 and was buried at Deansgrange with Robert Jolly, a
dairy proprietor of Baggot Court who died 4 Feb 1887. His wife Susan was working as a laundress and
living in Dublin Road, Carlow in 1901 and 1911.
1 Ebenezer Jolley born 23 Sep 1875 at the Curraghcamp, Newbridge died in 1875.
2 Daniel Jolley born 24 Mar 1877 born at Salem House Lodge, Rathmines.
3 Annie Bothwell Jolley born 23 Jun 1879 at Valley, Newport, Co Mayo.
4 Mary Elizabeth Jolley born at Whitechurch Laundry 13 Oct 1882.
5 Susan Lydia Jolley born 26 Oct 1887 married Samuel Semple, son of Joseph Mercer Semple at the
Methodist Church in Carlow on 10 Nov 1906. Susan was a laundress.

a dairyman and they lived at 4 Baggot Court. He died 4 Feb 1887 age 48 at Baggot Court and is buried
at Deansgrange.
1 Frances Jolly born 1872 died 1 Sep 1880 age 8 at City of Dublin Hospital, Baggot Street buried
at Stillorgan.
2 Robert Jolly born 1880 died 26 Jul 1881 age 1 buried at Stillorgan.
