Benjamin Wright born circa 1849 in Co Monaghan son of George Wright. He was a servant
living at Teer, Co Monaghan and married Mary Jane Rushe on 12 Apr 1870 at Killeevan
Church, Co Monaghan. Mary was from Tullyard and the daughter of John Burke, a farmer.
Mary Jane died at Tullyard on 3 Mar 1895, her son George the informant. Benjamin died at
Tullyard on 15 Mar 1917.
1 William James Wright born 7 Jun 1874 at Tullyard, Co Monaghan. He was a butler
living at Balbriggan and married Rebecca Burke on 15 Jun 1904 at Nubliss Church.
Rebecca was living at Nubliss and was the daughter of Samuel Burke, a farmer.
They lived at Nubliss and William was a butler and egg dealer. William was working
as a butler for the Shaw Taylor family in Galway in 1911 and Rebecca was at
Newbliss with the children. Rebeca died 1 Mar 1934 at Elvey. William died
7 Apr 1941 at Elvey.

2 Mary Jane Wright born 14 May 1876 at Tullyard Co Monaghan. Emily Jane was a
servant and married James Ralph Charters at Newbliss Church on 13 Jul 1898. James
was a railway porter living at Island bridge and the son of Ralph Charters, a land
steward. They lived at Turvey Avenue in 1901. Emily died 10 Aug 1931 at the
Adelaide Hospital later of 32 New Street.

4 Sarah Elizabeth Wright born 19 Oct 1880 at Tullyard, Co Monaghan living with the
Charters in Dublin in 1901. She was living at Sitric Road and married Robert Corry
on 28 April 1909 at St Paul’s Dublin. Her sister Margaret a witness. Robert was a
gardener living at Prospect House, Waterford and the son of Robert Corry, a
gardener.

and married Sarah Steen on 9 Sep 1920 at Nubliss Church.

6 Margaret (Maggie) Wright born 25 Aug 1883 at Tullyard, Monaghan. She was living
with her father in 1901. She worked at The Priory from 1913 to 1917. She married
Morton Kells on the 6 Aug 1917 at Stillorgan Parish Church. Thomas and Henrietta
Taylor were the witnesses. Morton was the son of John Kells and a gardener working
at Obelisk Park. By 1920 he was working at Killiney Castle. Morton, a gardener died
20 Jul 1943 at 5 St Patricks Road, Dalkey. Margaret died at St Patrick’s Road, Dalkey
on 9 Mar 1960. Both are buried at Deansgrange.
1 Mabel Henrietta Kells born 26 Jan 1920 at The Rotunda. She was a
bookkeeper and died 28 Jul 1941at Sir Patrick Dun's Hospital late of St Patrick’s
Road Dalkey and was buried at Deansgrange.
7 Henrietta (Hetty) Wright born 8 Jan 1886 at Tullyard, Co Monaghan living with her
father in 1901. She worked at Obelisk Park from 1911 to 1913. She married Angus
Slater on 15 Oct 1913 at All Saint’s, Blackrock. Angus was a gardener of Johnstown,
Staffen, Co Kildare and the son of Angus George Slater, a soldier and riding master at
Dublin Castle. Her sister Margaret, a housemaid in The Priory was a witness. Angus
worked for Watson and Sons Nurseries at Clontarf and in 1914 he designed and
built the rockery used at the Spring Show at the RDS. In 1915 he became head
gardener for Colonel Kemmis of Ballinacor House, Rathdrum, Co Wicklow. Henrietta
died 1952 at The Rest, Camden Row late of Lissadell Grange, Rathfarnham and was
buried at Whitechurch graveyard. Angus remarried and died in 1954.
1 Edith Violet Slater born 10 Sep 1914 at Garryard, Johnstown was a clerk. She
died from TB at Newcastle Hospital on 5 May 1833. Her funeral service was
held at Whitechurch.
2 Margaret Elizabeth Slater born 15 August 1916 at Greenane, Co Wicklow
unmarried in 1943.
3 Angus Allenby Slater born 25 Sep 1918 at Shillelagh, Co Wicklow. He was a
carpenter and married Olive Tracey on 30 Nov 1943 at Christ Church, Taney.
Olive was the daughter of William Tracey a timber merchant. Angus was later a
builder and was the contractor for the science block at the Masonic school in
Clonskeagh.
