John Kells born circa 1848 in Co Cavan, son of Morton Kells, a farmer. He was living at
Corradarren when he married Mary Jane Elliott on12 Feb 1874 at Derrylane Church in
Cavan. Mary Jane was the daughter of George Elliott, a farmer of Condry. They had ten
children of whom seven were still alive in 1911. John died 12 Mar 1903 at Condry and
Mary Jane died 14 Jan 1923 aged 68 at Condry.
1 George Robert Kells born 27 Nov 1874 at Drummully, Killishandra, Co Cavan
married Margaret Jane Bothwell from Leitrim at Leitrim on 6 Sep 1905. George
was 30 and Mary Jane was 35 and the daughter of Alexander Bothwell, a farmer.
By 1911 George was a land steward living Graigueavine Tubbriel, Kilkenny.

4 Harriett Kells born 25 Sep 1880 at Condry was a shop assistant living at Longwood
Avenue SCR with her brother in law Thomas Taylor in 1911. She married Adam
Gordon Hill Brown at Ormond Quay Presbyterian Church on 19 Jul 1915. Adam
was with the military police and the son of Alexander Brown.
5 Olivia Kells born circa 1883 at Cavan living with her parents in 1901 and working
as a servant for the Chambré family at Monkstown in 1911.
6 Sarah Ann Kells born 15 Mar 1884 at Condry, Cavan was living with her mother at
the farm in 1911.
7 Morton Kells born 11 Mar 1886 at Condry, Co Cavan was a farmer living with his
brother in law Thomas Taylor at Longwood Avenue SCR in 1911. He was a
gardener at Obelisk Park in 1917 when he married Margaret Wright, a maid at
The Priory and daughter of Benjamin Wright at St Brigid’s Church on 6 Aug 1917.
By 1920 he was working at Killiney Castle. Morton, a gardener died 20 Jul 1943 at
5 St Patricks Road, Dalkey. Margaret born circa 1884 died at St Patrick’s Road on
9 Mar 1960. Both are buried at Deansgrange.
1 Mabel Henrietta Kells born 26 Jan 1920 at The Rotunda. She was a
bookkeeper and died 28 Jul 1941 at St Patrick’s Road Dalkey and was buried
at Deansgrange.
8 Henrietta (Etta) Kells born 8 Dec 1887 married Thomas Taylor from Dublin City on
4 Nov 1907 at Christ Church, Leeson Park. Thomas was a fishmonger of 29 Upper
Camden Street and the son of Joseph Taylor, a cab owner. They were living at
Longwood Avenue in 1911 and had at least six children. They moved to 90
Ranelagh Road and later to Dartmouth Road. Thomas died aged 57 on 16 Jul 1939
at Mercer’s Hospital late of 32 Dartmouth Road. His son Arthur was the informant
and he was buried at Mount Jerome. Henrietta died aged 57 on 8 Aug 1946 at the
Royal City of Dublin Hospital late of 32 Dartmouth Road and was buried with her
husband.
1 Olive Elizabeth Taylor born 18 Oct 1908 at the Rotunda Hospital Dublin
married Eric Arnold 17 Apr 1937 at St Mathias’ Church, Dublin. Eric was a
civil servant and the son of Edmond George Arnold, a post office engineer.
Olive died 11 Dec 1955 and was buried with her parents.
2 Florence Taylor born 6 Apr 1910 at the Rotunda Hospital Dublin daughter
of Thomas Taylor, a poulterer of 29 Camden Street. Florence died
29 Jul 1911 at 36 Longwood Avenue.
3 Mary Adelaide (Mamie)Taylor born 6 Aug 1912 at 15 Upper Clanbrasil Street.
married Pantoleon (Pandy) Schilizzi in London. She died in 1977 and is
remembered on her parent’s headstone in Mount Jerome.
4 Arthur Taylor born 8 Jun 1914 at 90 Ranelagh Gardens died 2 Sep 1976 at
Maidstone, Kent.
5 Henrietta (Hetty) Taylor born 28 May 1919 at 90 Ranelagh Road married and
had children.
9 John Thomas Kells born 29 Aug 1889 at Condry, Co Cavan.
10 William Samuel Kells born circa 1891 in Cavan. William (aged 28) married Rebecca
McNally, daughter of Thomas McNally at Killegar parish Church, Leitrim on
16 Jun 1920. Rebecca died 20 Jan 1948 and was buried at Derrylane graveyard.
William died 30 Oct 1966 and was buried with her husband.
11 Lydia Kells born 28 Jun 1892 at Condry, Cavan died 11 Dec 1905 at Condry.
