George Ribton son of William and Anne Ribton of Sillough, Fingal. He was a alderman of
Dublin city. His siblings were Hamilton, Robert, William and Mary Pounder. He was a
sheriff in 1739 and knighted. He married Anne Fisher on 22.06.1721 and lived on Dame
Street at the corner of Sycamore Alley. He was Lord Mayor of Dublin 1747/8. They lived at
Stillorgan from 1740. George's mother died at Stillorgan in November 1757. He was
created a Baron on 12 Apr 1760 and died at Grove, Stillorgan on 09.03.1762. His wife Anne
is mentioned in his will.
1 Ann Ribton eldest daughter married Forster Adair of Hollybrook, Co Wicklow on
9 Oct 1748 and is mentioned in her father's will. Forster in 1786.
2 Sarah Ribton second daughter married Rev Richard Daniel of Co Clare in February
1752 at Grove, Stillorgan. She was a widow when mentioned in her father's will.
Sarah died in February 1764 in Grafton Street.
3 Alice Ribton third daughter married John Bambrick of Maidenhead, Queens County
on 13 Apr 1758 at St Michan’s Church. John was high sheriff of Queen's County. Alice
is mentioned in her father's will.
4 George Ribton born 25.05.1740 of Grove, Stillorgan. He succeeded to the
Baronetcy on the death of his father. He married Mary Grogan daughter of John
Grogan of Johnstown in 1768. George was high sheriff for Dublin in 1773.
Lady Ribton died in 31 Jan 1781 at Hume Street.
George secondly married Jane Emelia Sheppey, daughter of John Sheppey and Jane
Drury of Rockfield, Kilmacud in late 1781 and they lived at Landscape from 1783. George
died in 1806 at Rathfarnham and is buried at St James'. Jane died on 14.08.1849 aged 94
years was buried at St James’s Church.

2 John Sheppey Ribton eldest son born 07.02.1794 at Landscape, Rathfarnham. He was
the 3rd Baronet of Woodbrook and married Mary Anne Hayes on 08.04.1818. Mary
Anne was the only daughter and heir of Jeremiah Hayes of Killuragh, Limerick. They
were living at Woodbrook by 1831 though noted as living at Crinkin before that. Mary
Anne died at Woodbrook, Bray in May 1833.
1 John Hayes Ribton born circa 1819 and died of scarlatina on 21.05.1844 aged
24 years at his father’s residence near Bray.
He married secondly Emily Caroline only daughter of Thomas Quinan and widow of
Walter Hussey Hill on 20.01.1841. John died on 01.05.1877 aged 87 years at 48
Ebury Street, London. Dame Emily died following a carriage accident on 17.01.1885
aged 80 years at Woodbrook, Bray, Co Dublin. She left 5K in personal estate. They
are remembered on memorials at St James's Church (Crinken).
2 Sir George William Thomas Ribton born 16.08.1842 at Woodbrook, 4th
Baronet married Elizabeth Sanders daughter of Christopher Sanders of
Sanders Park, Cork and widow of Captain Francis Kennedy of the 77th Regiment
on 22.06.1869 at the Parish Church, Bray. Sir George of Grey Fort, Kilcoole,
Wicklow died on 05.04.1901 and Lady Elizabeth died on 27.02.1906 at Linden
Convalescent Home, Blackrock. As there was no heir, the baronetcy became
extinct.

19.04.1846 at Woodbrook, Bray, Co Dublin.

eldest son of Sir Frederick Hervey-Bathurst on 24.04.1869 at St George’s, Hanover
Square. Sir Frederick died on 20.05.1900. Dame Ada died in Rome on 27.02.1914
late of Draycott Place, London.

of the victims of the Alexandria massacre on 11 Jun 1882 leaving his wife and
daughter destitute. Adelaide died on 07.12.1906 aged 74 late of Shankill and is
buried at Mount Jerome.
