Turbett Family of Thornhill Stillorgan
The Turbett family were Wine Merchants with premises firstly at Bachelors Walk, moving to Brunswick
Street and from there to Lower Abbey Street.
Robert Exham Turbett eldest son of James Exham Purefoy Turbett and Sophia Gore of Owenstown
House and Grandson of the late Hon and Rev George Gore, Dean of Killala married Lucy 3rd daughter
of Capt Benjamin Lefroy and Catherine Tessier de la Nauze of Cardenton House, Athy.
The Turbett’s were living at Thornhill Stillorgan in 1882 when Mrs Turbett advertised for a cook.

Walker on 12.05.1893 at St Anne’s Church, Dublin. Robert died 27.01.1917. Catherine died
31.10.1951.

2 Cecil Lefroy Turbett born 02.12.1896 died 20.02.1975.
3 Mabel Lucy Turbett born circa 1898 died 28.02.1990 aged 91 years.
4 Eileen Vera Turbett born circa 1900. Eileen went to Shanghai as a Nurse in 1932.
2 Langlois Benjamin Turbett 2nd son born 03.01.1866 married Eva Berry daughter of
Marlborough Berry of Cloneen Kings County on 09.01.1895 at Leixlip. Eva died 12.02.1915.
3 Sophia Kathleen Turbett born 04.10.1867 married Myles Joseph Walsh in 1894.
4 George Frederick Gore Turbett born circa 1874 a Maltser unmarried in 1911 died 08.01.1944
aged 70 years. His wife Jane died 10.09.1946.
