Thomas Wall Mason born circa 1803 son of Abraham Mason and Isabel Wall. His father was the
proprietor of an Iron factory at 10 Dawson Street. He was educated at Whytes Academy,
graduated Trinity College and took Holy orders. He married Ellen Jane Armstrong on 27.02.1851
at Walcot Church, Bath in Somerset. Ellen was the youngest daughter of Lieutenant General
Alexander Armstrong of Green Park, Bath. Thomas died 09.12.1860 at Ropley, Alresford. Ellen
and the children were living at Ropley Cottage, South Street, Ropley in 1861 and by 1872 they
were living at Elm Grove, Blackrock. Ellen died 11.11.1893 at Mill Bank, Omagh, Co Tyrone;
probate to her son Henry and her son in law James Murray.
1 Thomas Alexander Hope Mason born 14.12.1851 Tichborne. He married Mary
Macdougald on 14.02.1883 at Oakville, Halton, Ontario. Mary was the daughter of
Peter Archibald Mcdougald and his wife Mary Jane. Mary died 21.01.1910 aged 49 at
Sunday's Well, Cork. Thomas was a land clerk/accountant living in Cork and died
03.10.1911 at Lee View Place, Sunday's Well Cork; probate to his son Thomas.
1 Thomas William Hobart Mason born circa 1889 in Canada. He was a clerk
working for Bass, Ratcliff & Gretton Ltd in 1911. He was an accountant living at
Pringle Street, Cork and married Alice Patterson on 02.08.1913. He served with
The Dublin Fusiliers during WW1. They lived in Templeogue, Dublin in later
life.
1 Maureen Nancy Stewart Mason born 1914 in Cork graduated Trinity
College Medical School. She married Captain F McDermot Byrn on
17.04.1939 at Karachi. Francis was a doctor and the son of Canon Francis
Byrn of Kilternan.
2 Katherine Stella Mason born 06.01.1853 at Tichborne married James Watson Murray
of Blackrock on 24.08.1876 at All Saints Church.
3 Ellen Frances (Ellie) Mason born 27.03.1854 at Tichborne. She married Rowley Alexander
Miller* on 18.10.1876 at All Saints Church, Blackrock. Rowley was a captain in the Royal
Tyrone Fusiliers and the eldest son of Rev Alexander Rowley Miller of Lissan Rectory,
Moneymore. They lived in Omagh and Rowley was a clerk of the Petty Sessions and
Registrar of the Tyrone County Court. Ellie died in 1911 and Rowley died in 1915 aged 65.

2 Winifred S Rowley Miller born 1878 in Omagh.
3 Alexander Rowley Miller born 1880 in Omagh joined the 1st Royal Inniskilling
Fusiliers. He was killed on 15.05.1902 at Kaffir Kop, Orange River Colony, South
Africa.
4 Inglis Rowley Francis Miller born 1893 in Omagh joined the 2nd Royal Inniskilling
Fusiliers. As only surviving son he died on 14.09.1914 in France.
4 Susan Berdée Mason 3rd daughter born 17.08.1855 at Tichborne. Susan was a witness
at the marriage of Eliza Mary Anna Lawless of Ardmeen House, Blackrock on 28.10.1882
at All Saints Church. Susan married Hugh Nathaniel Powell of Bellosquardo, Blackrock
on 28.12.1881 at St Pauls Church, Rondebusch, Cape Town. Susan Berdée Powell of
Alexander Terrace, Dalkey died on 18.03.1906. Hugh died on 27.09.1914 at Plumtree
Rectory, Nottingham the residence of his brother Charles.
5 Anna Maria Carolina Mason born 24.12.1856 at Tichborne. She died unmarried on
26.02.1913 at Thornton Le Dale, Hampshire, late of Byland Abbey House, Ampleforth;
probate to her brother Henry.
6 Henry Hobart Seymour Mason born 25.08.1858 at Tichborne. He was a bank manager in
Kingstown and lived at 46 Albert Road by 1875. He retired and went to New Zealand in
1923 where he died unmarried in 1924.
7 William Joseph Mason born 31.03.1860 at Tichborne. He attended the Rathmines &
Wesleyan Connexional School. He drowned whilst out on a small rowing boat in Dublin
Bay with Henry McClelland of 11 Idrone Terrace, Blackrock on 02.10.1875 both aged 15
years. Both boys are buried together in Deansgrange cemetery. A memorial window and
brass plaque dedicated to Willie's memory was installed at All Saint's Church, Blackrock.
