Hone Family of Vevay, Ballybrack
Addison Hone was born on 30.04.1773. Addison the son of Brindley Hone and Sarah Strong of
Hannahville, Dundrum was a merchant at Batchelor's Walk.
Addison married Anne Hartley daughter of Travers Hartley on 14.11.1795. Addison died on
12.11.1797 aged 24 years and Anne died on 21.08.1834 at Shankill.
1 Brindley Hone born 15.10.1796 baptised Eustace Street son of Addison Hone married his
cousin Anne Elizabeth Hone 3rd daughter of Joseph Hone on 08.09.1823 at Harcourt Street
by the Rites of the Unitarian Church. Brindley was a Merchant and Director of the Midland
Great Railways died on 14.11.1862 aged 66 years and Anne died on 13.02.1896 both at
Vevay, Ballybrack.
1 Mary Hone eldest daughter born 26.08.1824 baptised Eustace Street then of
Longford Terrace married Thomas Moore on 02.09.1845 at Monkstown Church.
2 Addison Hone born 12.10.1825 baptised Eustace Street of Vevay, Ballybrack.
Addison was living at Thomastown in 1896 and died on 02.03.1900 late of Traverslea
and Thomastown.
3 Brindley Hone born circa 02.01.1827 baptised Eustace Street. Brindley a Solicitor
formerly of Vevay, Ballybrack died on 01.06.1909 aged 82 years at Traverslea,
Kingstown. He left personal estate of £67,945.
4 Joseph Hone born circa 18.12.1828 baptised Eustace Street. Joseph died unmarried
on 08.03.1898 aged 69 years at Vevay, Ballybrack.
5 Anne Hone 2nd daughter born 10.06.1830 baptised Eustace Street now of Longford
Terrace married Richard Travers Smith 2nd son of John Smith late of Henrietta Street
on 10.08.1853 at Monkstown Church.
6 Nathaniel Hone RHA born 26.10.1831 baptised Eustace Street of Vevay, Ballybrack
married Magdalen Jameson eldest daughter of John Jameson of St Marnock’s on
11.07.1872 at the Parish Church, Portmarnock. He studied engineering at Trinity and
then in 1853 went to Paris to study painting. He was friends with Manet, Rousseau
and others. Nathaniel died 14.10.1917 aged 86 years and Magdalene died 23.11.1919
aged 76 years both at St Dolough’s Park, Raheny.
7 Eliza Sarah Hone born 29.03.1833 baptised Eustace Street.
8 James Hartley Hone born 26.02.1834 baptised Eustace Street. James died on
28.05.1896 late of Palmerston House, Chapelizod. Probate granted to brother
Addison.
9 Eleanor Hone born 26.02.1836 baptised Eustace Street.
10 Thomas Leland Hone born circa 03.02.1838 baptised Eustace Street.
11 Richard John Hone born circa 23.05.1840 baptised Eustace Street. Richard a Solicitor late
of Traverslea died unmarried on 11.09.1907 at 19 Lower Mount Street.
12 Samuel Hone born 14.09.1843 baptised Eustace Street and died unmarried on
11.06.1900 aged 56 years at Palmerstown House.
