Hogan Family of Charlton, Roebuck & Airfield, Stillorgan
William Caldwell Hogan son of John Hogan, merchant of Wexford town and Mary Waddy born
circa 1767. He graduated Trinity and entered Kings Inns. William an attorney of Peter Street
and later of 48 York Street married Elizabeth Morgan on 17 Dec 1792 at St Michan’s, Dublin.
They lived at Fairieland, Milltown. William died 23 Jul 1853 and Elizabeth died 18 Feb 1854 at
Fairieland. Their children helped to pay for the erection of St Philip’s Church, Milltown as a
memorial to their parents and their are a number of memorial windows dedicated to their
children also in the church.
1 William Hogan eldest son born 23 Feb 1796 in Dublin was educated at Whites Academy.
He graduated Trinity College and was admitted Kings Inns. William died 11 Sep 1870
at Kingstown. He left 12K in personal estate, probate to his widow Anne.
2 John Hogan second son born circa 1797 graduated Trinity and was admitted Kings Inns.
He was a solicitor in practice with his father with offices at 48 York Street and married
Anna de Butts in 1824. Anna died 19 Nov 1837.

St Peters.
2 Lucy Adelaide Hogan born 23 Feb 1830 at 48 York street.
3 John Frederick Hogan born 1833 at 48 York Street.
4 John Frederick Hogan born at York Street, Dublin on 27 Nov 1834.
He was living at York Street and married Lucy Margaret Bigger, eldest daughter of William
Bigger of Harcourt Street and Ellerslie, Co Dublin at Bray Church in September 1840. Lucy
died 17 Nov 1859 at York Street. John died a widower at Sandford Terrace on 15 Sep 1876
and left 16K in personal estate.

7 Francis Bigger Hogan born 26 Jan 1843 baptised at St Peter's Church.
3 Charles Hogan third son born circa 1800 in Dublin was educated at Whites Academy and
graduated Trinity College. He was resident at Fairyland, Milltown, County Dublin and married
Mary Kemmis on 1 Jan 1827 at St Peter's Church. Mary was the only daughter of the Rev
Thomas Kemmis of Shaen Castle & Brockley Park, Queens County and his wife Mary Rikey.
Charles was Clerk of Affidavits and sixth clerk in the Court of Chancery. They lived at Charlton
in Roebuck from 1830 to 1834 at Airfield from 1835 to 1839 and were back in Charlton from
1847 to 1867. Charles died at Sandringham Gardens, Ealing in London on 16 Jan 1885. Mary
died 18 Dec 1888 at Sandringham Gardens aged 79.
1 Arthur Rikey Hogan born 23 May 1832 at Roebuck baptised 2 Jul 1832 at St Peters
was educated at Trinity College Dublin. As Vicar of Wattlington, Oxfordshire he
married Adelaide Taylor on 30 Apr 1867 at Whitworth Church near Rochdale. Arthur
died 15 Oct 1880 at Southport.
1 Walter Kemmis Taylor Hogan infant son died 6 Aug 1870.
2 Ada Mary Hogan of Dresden married Oswald Popp circa 1900.
2 Mary Hogan eldest daughter born at Charlton Roebuck in November 1833 baptised
at St Peter’s in 1834 died at Sandringham Gardens on 10 Mar 1877.
3 Anne Elizabeth Hogan born 3 Sep 1835 at Airfield baptised at St Mary’s Donnybrook.
4 Jane E Hogan born circa 1836 in Ireland living with her parents in Ealing in 1871.
5 Ellen (Helen) Hogan, born 19 Oct 1838 at Airfield living with her parents in Ealing in
1871.
6 Charles Henry Hogan born 9 May 1847 at Charlton, Roebuck baptised at Taney. He
graduated with a classics degree from Trinity in 1865. He married Mary Louisa
Palmer on 27 Jun 1874 at St Andrews, Plymouth. Mary was the daughter of
Thomas Palmer of Devon. In 1901 he was resident in a house 386 in Palmerston
Road where he was noted as married and a lunatic in Chancery. He died a
widower on 29 Jun 1908 at Hampstead, Glasnevin, where he was under the care of
the Lord Chancellor. Helen Hogan Executor.

2 Henry Kemmis Hogan second son born circa 1876 educated at Abergaveny
and Oswestry lived at Ealing. He married Edith Llewellyn Eynon of Hill House,
Totnes and died at Halifax, Nova Scotia on 11 Nov 1906.
4 Henry Hogan born circa 1804 educated at Whites Academy and graduated Trinity.
5 Elizabeth Hogan born circa 1804, last surviving daughter of W C Hogan, of Fairyland, Milltown,
Co Dublin, died 23 Dec 1886 aged 82 at Templeton, Temple Road.
6 Mary Hogan, second daughter married William Henry Flemyng at St Peter’s Church, Dublin on
10 Mar 1830. William had been with the HEICS and was the only son of William Fleming. Rev W
H Flemyng was Rector of St Philips, Milltown from 1844 to 1871.
1 Harriett Elizabeth Flemyng born 10 Mar 1831 at 37 Leeson Street baptised at St Peter's
Church.
7 James Hogan son born circa 1809 in Dublin educated at Whites Academy. He graduated Trinity
and took holy orders. He was resident at Tintern, Monmouthshire and as fourth son he
married Sophia Margaret Ferrier, eldest daughter of Alexander Ferrier of Belleview Parc,
Knockmaroon at Castleknock church on 14 May 1833.
8 Frederick Hogan seventh son born circa 1812 in Dublin. He was educated at Whites Academy,
graduated Trinity College and admitted Kings Inns.
