Lawless Pyne Rector and Vicar of Inch on 1 Jun 1858. John died 26 Mar 1869 and left 6K in
personal estate. Jane died 2 Oct 1892 at Aghada, Middleton Cork and was buried at Inch.
Her nephews Christopher and William were her executors.
2 William John Gillespie born circa 1805 married Catherine Amelia Gillman daughter of John
Gillman and Mary Elizabeth Armstrong of Belle Vue, Cross Avenue in Booterstown in January
1833. In 1853 he was 1st assistant to the accountant to the Encumbered Estate Courts on a
salary of 200L per year. They lived at Whitehall, Westminster Road Foxrock from 1879 until
Catherine died there on 9 Jan 1889. William then moved to Beaufield in Stillorgan with his
brother Christopher and together they moved to Glen Albyn in 1897 where William died on
5 Mar 1896.

Stillorgan and was buried at Deansgrange.
2 Catherine Letitia Gillespie born circa 1837 died a spinster on 26 Sep 1909 at Rose Park,
Kill Avenue, Monkstown and was buried at Deansgrange.
3 William J Gillespie, eldest son joined HM 49th Regiment and attained the rank of Captain
by 1872. He married Anne Mary Barbara St John, daughter of Lieut Gen Robert St John
and Jesse Arabella Whitehill of Hyde Park at Poona, Bombay on 6 Jan 1872. They lived at
Lynton Lodge, St. Margaret's in London and he gained the rank of Major-General in the
Berkshire Regiment.

was buried at Deansgrange.

3 Grace Nixon Gillespie, third daughter married the widower Dr Richard Grattan of Drummin,
Co Kildare on 12 Oct 1836 at St Thomas’s Church Dublin. In December 1845, Dr Richard
Grattan of Drummin lost a hand between the rollers of a threshing machine. He was a senior
fellow of the RCSI. Dr Richard Grattan, Drummin House, Carbury was one of Grattan's
nephews, and was among the founders of the Home Rule movement. He was the author of
‘Vox Hiberniae e Deserto Clamantis: or, Ireland, her Grievances and their Remedies’, which was
published in 1870. Grace died at Drummin House 28 Apr 1881. Richard died 29 May 1886
aged 98 at Drummin House.

Drumcondra Church on 25 Mar 1828. Frederick was of Dunshaughlin Lodge and
Barford in Wiltshire and the couple had 17 children including Anna Maria, eldest
daughter who married William Richardson on 1 Aug 1855 at Drumcondra and Emma
Matilda, second daughter who married Ralph M Forster at Donnybrook on 7 Sep 1861.
Anna Maria died 10 Apr 1862 at Fortlands.

4 Eliza Anne Gillespie married Rev William Bunbury Isaac, youngest son of Thomas Bunbury and
Maria Greene on 5 May 1828 at the Parish Church of Drumcondra. He was Rector of
Shandrum and died in 1872 aged 69.
1 Thomas Bunbury Isaac was born in 1829 and baptised in Cove on 8 March 1829. He
dropped Isaac as a surname. He graduated Trinity College in 1852 and took Holy orders.
He was ordained Deacon in 1854, he served as a curate of Clonfert until 1858 when he
moved to Mallow. He married Mary Thomasina Simpson, only daughter of the late E
Simpson of Holly Bank, Yorkshire on 13 Sep 1855. From 1872 to 1899 he was Dean of
Limerick. In 1899 he became Bishop of Limerick, Ardfert & Aghadoe. He died on
19 Jan 1907 aged 78 and was buried at a vault in the grounds attached to St Mary’s
Cathedral. Mary Thomasina died at Limerick on 6 Aug 1926 aged 90.
2 Mary Isaac born circa 1841 married Henry Bagge of Sholt Castle, Cork. She secondly
married the Hon Matthew James Hastings Fitzmaurice Deane on 27 Sep 1871. Maria died
at Gurst Ragh, Charleville, on 19 Jan 1879.
1 Matthew Fitzmaurice Tilson Deane who became 7th Baron Muskerry.
5 Maria Gillespie, youngest daughter married William Henry Hoye of Lower Gardiner Street at
Booterstown Church in June 1835.
6 Christopher Healy-Hutchinson Gillespie born circa 1815 was a wine merchant residing at 97
Lower Gardiner Street and lived at Glenbyn in 1895 before moving to Knocksinna. In 1901 his
household consisted of his 5 nephews and nieces, children of his brother William. He died a
bachelor at Tudor Lodge, Killiney on 14 Apr 1906 aged 91. He was executor to his aunt Jane
Gillespie in 1892 and his aunt Catherine Nickson in 1895.
7 John William Gillespie was a witness to the burning of the custom house stores in 1833. He was
a wine merchant 97 Lower Gardiner Street in 1835 and was trading with his brother Christopher
in 1845 from 93 Lower Gardiner Street.
