Edmund a Wine Merchant, head of the firm of Thompson, D’Olier & Company living at
Knocklinn, Bray married Alice Florence Selina Gore born 1864 2nd daughter of Wm Gore of
Ennismore, Enniskillen on 03.02.1891 at Powerscourt Church, Enniskerry. Alice was the first
Secretary of the Mothers’ Union at Powerscourt Church in 1907. Edmund died on 11.05.1935
aged 77 at Wingfield and Alice died 10.07.1946 aged 84 years at Fairy Hill, Bray. They are
buried at St Patrick’s, Enniskerry.
1 Sylvia May D’Olier born 02.05.1892 at Knocklinn married Randolph Stonehewer Wix
son of Frederick Randolph Wix on 03.06.1913 at Christ Church, Bray. They lived at
Crinken Lodge, Shankill. Randolph died on 28.11.1963 at Tara House, Putland Road,
Bray and Sylvia died 09.12.1988 aged 96 years. They are buried in Enniskerry.

2 Florence Charlotte Elizabeth D’Olier born 16.03.1894 at Knocklinn. Florence was at
Boarding School in 1911 at Harrow-on-the-Hill aged 17. Florence married Howard
Allen Cornewall Lewis son of Edward Cornewall Lewis on 15.09.1922 in Bombay.
3 Edmund William D’Olier born 26.07.1898 at Knocklinn educated at Marlborough
College, Wiltshire. Went to Kenya in 1923 aged 26 with his brother Bertrand. Edmund
married Beatrice Blair daughter of Dr and Mrs Blair of Helmsley, Yorkshire on
25.06.1925 at Kitale, Kenya.
4 Bertrand Guy D’Olier younger son born 10.04.1902 at Knocklinn went to Kenya in
1923 aged 21 with his brother Edmund. Bertrand married Beatrice Maura Massy
daughter of Hugh Eyre Barton Massy of Stackallen, Meath in Kenya in November
1926. Bertrand a pilot was killed in a flying accident at Digby Aerodrome, Lincolnshire
on 17.08.1928 aged 26 years and is buried at St Patrick’s in Enniskerry. Beatrice
married John Hubert McKeever in 1933.
2 Cathcart Rutherford D’Olier born 17.09.1859 at Roebuck Cottage, Mount Anville. Cathcart a
Tea Planter living at Tindharia, married Emily Rebecca Osborne, daughter of the late Henry
Osbourne of Melbourne Australia on 11.12.1889 at Kurseong, Bengal, India. In 1891 they
were living in Cheltenham and moved to Australia in 1892. They returned to Ireland in 1902
and in 1911 were living in Enniskerry. Cathcart and Emily went to live in Italy in 1933.
Cathcart died on 16.05.1937 of Villa La Alassio Savona, Italy and Emily died 10.08.1949.
1 Brian Valentine D’Olier born 04.11.1890 in India died 03.01.1916 at Ballyman, Bray
from the effects of a gunshot wound. Brian was buried at St Patrick's Enniskerry.
2 Lorna Osborne D’Olier born 03.02.1897 at StIrling West, South Australia* worked for the
Redcross at the Princess Patricia Hospital in Bray from 1916 to 1918. She married
Edmund Montgomery Miles, son of Lieut Col A E Miles of Hungerdown, Great Somerford,
Wiltshire, in Italy in the summer of 1923.

Brewer 4th son of Theodore Thring of Alford, Somerset on 13.11.1893 at Powerscourt Church.

son of Patrick Adam on 28.03.1889 at Christ Church, Bray. In 1901 the family were living at
Monastery, Powerscourt. In 1911 Theodora was in a Nursing Home in Surrey.
