George Family of Cahore Castle, Clonevan, Wexford.
John George son of John George of Thornhill, Stillorgan was educated at Trinity College and Gray’s
Inns. He was a Barrister at Law and a Judge of the Kings Bench. John married Rosanna Susan D’Olier
eldest daughter of Isaac Matthew D’Olier of Collegues in 1832. Rosanna died in 1847 and John then
married Mary L’Estrange Carleton daughter of Major Christopher Carleton L’Estrange in 1848.
He inherited the Cahore Estate on the death of his father in 1837. The family lived at Fitzwilliam
Square West, Dublin and Cahore, Wexford.

on 17.02.1840 at Fitzwilliam Square West.
4 Richard D’Olier George born 16.08.1840 Captain 7th Dragoon Guards DL and JP married
Anna Laura Cecilia Bond daughter of Rev Alfred Bond on 04.06.1873 at Freston Church,
Suffolk. Richard died 19.12.1893 at Cahore and is buried at Glascarrig. Anna died circa
08.02.1935 aged 82 years and is buried at Glascarrig. Anna’s sister Lella Bond is also buried
at Glascarrig.

Bertram D’Olier MD, youngest son of Edmund D’Olier of Arundel in Bray on
24.02.1903 at St Andrew’s, Westminster, London. Beryl Emilie died 19.05.1943 aged
68 years and Isaac Bertram died 21.02.1948 aged 78 years both at Beechlands,
Shankill. They are buried in Enniskerry.

Wexford. Harry was awarded the Distinguished Service Order In 1911 the family were
living at Cahore. Harry was killed in action on 15.06.1915. Enid died circa 1936 in
Norfolk aged 59 years
