daughter of Rev Thomas Colclough and Charlotte Hartson. William died 05.02.1837 at
Greenfield, Dublin and Maria died 28.06.1846 at Newington Terrace, Rathmines.
1 Rev Arthur Thomas Burroughs of Greenfield Lodge married Clarissa Margaretta
Belzerne Travers only child of late Boyle Travers of Stephens Green on 13.01.1823
at St James’ Church, Dublin. Arthur was curate of St James’ at this time. Arthur
the rector of St Luke’s Parish died in April 1836 of typhus fever at Vicarsfield.
Clarissa died on 24.03.1867 aged 73 years at Drumroe House, Cappoquin,
Waterford.

3 Rev Henry Colclough Burroughs 2nd son born 30.10.1830 of Dolphin's
Barn baptised at St James’ Church. Henry was admitted to the Bar in
1854 and died unmarried on 02.12.1902 aged 74 years at Ballyroan.
2 Elizabeth Sarah Burroughs eldest daughter married Rev Gormon Gregg of Belfast
on 31.01.1827 at St James’ Church, Dublin. Elizabeth died on 18.10.1866 aged 63
years at Delgany, Wicklow.
3 Harriet Dorothea Burroughs 2nd daughter married Rev John Vere Benson of
Corbally, Tipperary on 05.06.1844 at St Peter’s Church, Dublin. John the Rector
of Castleconnell, Limerick died on 03.04.1863 aged 59 years.
4 George C Burroughs 2nd son of the Royal Artillery married Selena Childers eldest
daughter of late Colonel John Walbanke Childers on 24.05.1831 at Brighton.
Selena died on 22.01.1833 at Gibraltar and George died on 26.09.1840 at St
Stephens Green and is buried at Mount Jerome.
5 Edward Hartson Burroughs 3rd son born 09.12.1803 barrister at law of Harcourt
Street, Dublin married Henrietta Robinson eldest daughter of late James
Robinson of Herbert Street on 14.09.1840 at St Peter’s Church, Dublin. Edward
together with his colleague Henry Barnes Gresson who later became a Judge in
New Zealand published a book on Irish equity pleading. Henrietta died on
23.03.1888 aged 72 years at Rokeby, Blackrock and Edward died on 21.10.1893 aged
90 years at same place. Edward left 12k in personal estate and probate was to
Archibald Robinson and his son Rev William Edward Burroughs. They are buried at
Mount Jerome.
1 Anna Elizabeth Burroughs eldest daughter born 15.01.1843 at Harcourt
Street baptised at St Peter’s Church died on 12.12.1866 aged 23 years and is
buried at Mount Jerome.
2 Charlotte Sarah Burroughs born 21 Jun 1844 at Harcourt Street. She was Hon
Sec to The Protestant Orphan Society for 21 years retiring in 1916 and would
frequently take some of the children to her house, Sunnyside in Kilternan for
short holidays. Before her move in 1917 to England to live with her sister, she
vested her house with the POS and partially endowed it as a home for little girls.
She travelled to China with her sister Fanny in 1921. She died 6 Jan 1930 at
Foochow, China late of Tiverton, Devon and left 1k in personal estate.
2 William Edward Burroughs born 25 Jan 1847 at Harcourt Street. He graduated
Trinity College and took Holy orders. He was living at the Parsonage, Mariners
Church when he married Annie Isabella Gaussen on 23.01.1877 at the Parish
Church of St George, Dublin. Annie was the daughter of Charles Gaussen, JP of
17 Gardiners Place The family were living at Christchurch Vicarage, Lubbock
Road, Chislehurst, Bromley, Kent in 1901.
1 Edward Arthur Burroughs born 01.10.1882 at the Parsonage, Adelaide
Street.
2 Eliza Grace Annie Burroughs born 03.02.1885 at Golden Terrace, Bray.
3 Edward Robinson Burroughs born 09.06.1849 at Harcourt Street baptised at
St Peter’s Church. He graduated Trinity and was ordained a priest in 1874. He
was curate at Kinsale, St Mathias', Dublin and Cork before moving to Bristol in
1879. He married Annie Rogers on 23 Nov 1881 at St Clement Danes Church
in London. Annie was the daughter of Joseph Rogers of Clifton. Edward died
on 2 May 1907 at Bristol and left 3k in personal estate.
4 George Colclough Burroughs 2nd son died on 21.06.1854 at Templeville,
Killiney and is buried at Mount Jerome.
5 Henrietta Susan Burroughs born 22.09.1851 at Harcourt Street baptised at
St Peter’s Church died on 01.05.1926 aged 77 years at the Stewart Institution
late of Rokeby, Blackrock.
6 Fanny Robinson Burroughs born 01.10.1854 at 69 Harcourt Street baptised
at St Peter’s Church. Fanny was accepted by the Church of England Zenana
Missionary Society and sailed for Fowchow in October 1892 as an honorary
missionary of the society. She was working in Sang-yong in 1892. She had a
narrow escape in 1895 when nine missionaries at Whasang were murdered -
she managed to escape. She returned to Ireland in 1909 to give lectures on
mission work in China. She died in China in 1936.
6 Henry Francis Burroughs 4th son born circa 1806 formerly of Harcourt Street and
late of Ballyroan, Rathfarnham died unmarried on 05.12.1879 aged 73 years.
7 Charlotte Maria Burroughs youngest daughter born circa 1811 married Rev Robert
Henry Stanley on 13.07.1841 at St Peter’s Church, Dublin. Robert died 17.05.1869 at
Edermine Rectory, Wexford. Charlotte died on 29.04.1893 aged 80 years at 14
Hatch Street, Dublin. They are buried at Mount Jerome.

2 William Burroughs Stanley 2nd son born 25.12.1846 at Bannow Glebe,
Wexford married Letitia Leonora Stanley only daughter of Hugh Beresford
Stanley of Lonsdale, Stillorgan on 17.12.1868 at Stillorgan Church.

died 19.01.1871 aged 14 months at same place and is buried at Mount
Jerome.
2 Hugh Henry Granville Stanley born 16.06.1872 at Lonsdale baptised
at Stillorgan Parish Church. Hugh died of Meningitis on 17.01.1883
aged 10 years at 23 Lower Fitzwilliam Street and is buried at Mount
Jerome.
3 Henry Childers Stanley born 18.09.1875 at 24 Longford Terrace of 23
Lower Fitzwilliam Street. Henry died unmarried on 02.07.1932 aged
54 years at 28 Upper Merrion Street late of Coolamber, Lisygrane,
Westmeath.
3 Robert Henry Stanley 3rd son born 27.01.1847 at Bannow Glebe, Wexford.
Robert was called to the Bar in October 1872. Robert a barrister died
unmarried on 28.08.1893 aged 42 years at Hampstead, Glasnevin and is
buried at Mount Jerome. Probate to brother William B Stanley.
4 Charlotte Maria Stanley born 25.09.1850 died 29.11.1876 aged 26 years at
11 Hatch Street. Informant Robert Stanley.
5 Hannah Mary Stanley youngest daughter born circa 1856 died on 20.07.1870
