Lord Lucan was declared dead by a British judge and a death certificate issued in February just past.
His son Lord George Bingham applied for the declararion so that he could inherit the title and become the 8th Earl of Lucan.
At one time the family owned over 60,000 acres in Co Mayo and the estate still collects ground rents on behalf of the family.
