​Was that Mr Big in Cavan? Chris Noth is searching for Irish roots this week Chris Noth, better known for his role as Carrie’s love interest Mr Big in Sex and the City, was in Cavan this week. The actor was on Irish soil to track down his ancestry for US genealogy show Who Do You Think You Are? His search led him to Knockbride in Cavan on Wednesday, where his great great grandfather came from. County Librarian Tom Sullivan told radio station Northern Sound News, that Maguire was Noth’s ancestor’s name and that they think he emigrated to Canada in the 1800s. The town library were so pleased to have Noth over that they tweeted the event, and wouldn’t you if you had him nosing through your book collection?

This is not Noth’s first trip to Ireland though, the actor starred in the TV mini-series Titanic: Blood and Steel filmed in 2012.
