Findmypast add to their collection of historic Irish Newspapers including one brand new title, the United Irishman for which they have just over 800 articles which all seem to be from 1848.
"The United Irishman was a staunchly nationalist title that ran weekly in 1848 until it's suppression under the Treason Felony Act. Its founder, John Mitchell was arrested and convicted of two charges of "felony" and spent four years in Penal colonies in Bermuda and Van Diemen's Land before escaping to the United States.
Substantial updates have been made to 8 existing titles including the Dublin Daily Express with 1.4 million new articles, Dublin Daily Nation with over 124,000 new articles and The Ulsterman with almost 28,000 new articles.
The entire Irish newspaper collection now stands at over 15.9 million fully searchable articles and covers over 240 years of Ireland's history (1708-1950)."
