Celtic Ireland
UCC Summer School, University College Cork, June 19 - June 24, 2016
The Celtic Ireland summer school at UCC offers a week long tuition on a fascinating theme, as one would expect from a summer school held in UCC, one of the world’s leading universities. All aspects of the subject are covered by a series of lectures, workshops and fieldtrips given by a skilled panel of lecturers at UCC. The themes of landscape, folklore, art, memory, festival and sources are described and explained in presentations which will be of great interest to the seeker of knowledge of Ireland's celtic past.
Our panel consists of Dr Paul MacCotter, Laura Pomeroy, Dr Griffin Murray, Treasa Kerrigan and Flicka Small and Lorna Moloney.
Thankfully, it is not all work. A number of field trips are offered featuring sites central to Cork and and a fieldtrip to the famous Rock of Cashel, in Tipperary.
We have a list of accommodation providers on request. Travel details from Dublin airport and Shannon are also available on request. Please email Course Co-ordinator Lorna Moloney with any of your queries at [email protected]
We welcome international visitors and our registration is now open.
