George Baker of Ardbraccan son of William H Baker and the grandson of William Baker (born
circa 1754 and died 20 Feb 1828)*.
George born circa 1841 married Maryann Rennicks of Athboy, daughter of James Rennicks in
1864. George was a farmer living at Ardbraccan in 1901 and 1911. The couple took part in
local horticultural shows and George won prizes for his vegetable produce and Maryanne
was awarded for her baking. Maryann died 11.04.1913 and George died 14.11.1915. Both
were buried at St Ultan's graveyard in Ardbraccan*.
1 William Baker born 12.11.1865 at Ardbraccan. William a gardener of Marley, Rathfarnham
married Emily Gaskin a housemaid in Highfield Manor, Rathfarnham daughter of William
Gaskin a coachbuilder on 27.01.1891 at Rathfarnham Parish Church. By 1901 the family
were living at th gatelodge at Ardlui, Galloping Green. William worked for the Mitchell
Family at Ardlui, Blackrock between 1901 and 1923 and won many awards for their
gardens at local shows including the Kingstown Show. By 1928 William was the
proprietor of the Alma Nurseries in Monkstown. He was a fellow of the Royal Horticultural
Society and much in demand as a judge. In 1933 William won the RHS silver medal for his
trade display of Azaleas. Emily died on 20.08.1936 aged 69 at Baggot Street Hospital and
William of Alma Nurseries, Monkstown died on 29.11.1937 aged 67 years at the Royal City
of Dublin Hospital and they are buried at Deansgrange.

2 James Baker born 08.11.1867 at Ardbraccan. James married Elizabeth Whittendale daughter
of James Whittendale on 14.09.1896 at Tomregan Parish Church, Ballyconnell, Cavan. When
his daughter Marjorie was born James was a gardener at Lota, Blackrock for the Boxer
family and in 1909 he was working for the Darley family at Ferney and in 1911 he was
head gardener at Foxrock House working for the Hardman family.
1 Marjorie Elizabeth Baker born 23.12.1899 at the Rotunda Hospital of Lota, Blackrock
living with her parents at Abilene gatelodge in 1911. She married Edward Thomas
Galway on 19.07.1916 at St Peter's Church, Dublin. Both were minors. Edward was
an engine fitter resident at Castleknock and the son of Robert Galway a signalman.

3 George Baker born 18.03.1871 at Ardbraccan. George a gardener living at Dungannon,
Tyrone married Eliza Corbitt daughter of Robert Corbitt of Coragarry, Aghabog, Monaghan
on 18.03.1892 at Derryvalley Presbyterian Church, Ballybay.
1 Robert George Baker born 15.06.1893 at Corragarry, Dawsongrove, Cootehill,
Monaghan living with his grandparents in 1901 and 1911.
4 Josiah Baker born 31.05.1873 at Ardbraccan. Joshua died on 19.08.1890 aged 17 years at
Ardbraccan, informant George Baker, his father. However his headstone at St Ultan's,
Ardbraccan gives his date of death as 24.08.1890.
5 Robert Henry Baker born 20.04.1878 at Ardbraccan. Robert was living at his parents home
in 1911 and working as a gardener.
6 Mary Jane Baker born 13.12.1880 at Ardbraccan. Mary Jane was a seamstress living with her
parents at Ardbraccan in 1901. She married John Stockman, son of Robert Stockman on
01.09.1904 at Ardbraccan Parish Church, Navan.
7 Charles Baker born 23.05.1885 at Ardbraccan. Charles was living with his parents in
Ardbraccan in 1901. Charles a farmer of Ardbraccan married Annie Newman of Mountain
View Road daughter of James Newman of Ongenstown on 08.12.1920 at the Church of the
Holy Name, Rathmines.
