John Robert Wilson born circa 1840 son of Joseph Wilson. He a gardener of Royal Oak,
Malcolmville, Carlow, married Jessie Clementina De La Motte on 23.03.1876 at Bagnelstown,
Carlow. Jessie was the daughter of William Alfred Delamotte and Jemima Bull. Her father was
an artist and a librarian at St Bartholomew's Hospital. Her grandfather, also called William
Alfred Delamotte was a well known painter and printmaker. It appears that her family fell on
hard times as both Jessie and her sister Jemima were working as servants by 1871 and their
father was an inmate of St John's Road workhouse in Islington where he died the following
year. They moved to Ardee in 1886 where John worked as a gardener to Rev F G McClintock
of Drumear. In June 1890 John took his own life. Jessie was living at Castlebellingham and
working as a seamstress in 1901 and in 1911 she was living at Ranelagh Road with her
daughter Florence.
1 Elizabeth Kathleen Wilson born 18.12.1876 at Newbury, Edenderry, Kildare and died
18.11.1879 aged 3 years of Newtownpark and is buried at Deansgrange.
2 Frances Geraldine Wilson born 10.12.1880 at Hawthorn, Newtownpark baptised at All
Saints Church, Blackrock. Frances of 13 Charlemont Place, Dublin married Hugh
MacCallum a Forester from Lockerbie, Dumfriesshire, Scotland son of Donnell
MacCallum on 19.09.1906 at the Parish Church of St Matthias, Dublin. Witness Alice
Marjorie Wilson.
3 William Alfred Wilson born 02.08.1882 at Newtownpark, of Hawthorn, Blackrock
baptised at All Saints Church.
4 Alice Marjorie Wilson born 15.12.1883 at Hawthorn, Blackrock baptised at All Saints
Church. Alice aged 26 years in 1911 was a wardrobe keeper in the Palace Boarding
School in Tichenhill, Bewdley, Worcestershire.
5 Charles Joseph Wilson born 01.09.1885 at Wyattville, Ballybrack. Charles a gardener
foreman of Talbot Lodge married Emily Violet Cooper of Dunstaffnage Cottage daughter
of Patrick Cooper on 12.11.1913 at Stillorgan Parish Church. Emily died on 28.05.1951
aged 70 years at the Adelaide Hospital and Charles died on 29.04.1957 aged 71 years at
the Royal Hospital both late of Woodley, Dundrum Road. They are buried at Deansgrange.

Stillorgan.
2 Daughter Wilson born 04.09.1921 at St Columba’s College, Rathfarnham.
6 Florence Edith Wilson born 29.09.1887 at Drumear, Dunleer, Ardee. Florence was living
with her mother, and brother Charles in Castlebellingham in 1901 and living with Jessie
in 1911 at 2.1 Ranelagh Road and she worked as a typist in an Electric Lighting Company
office. Florence was living at Craige House, Ballypatrick and married Thomas Williams
Priestley on 16.10.1915 at Killaloan Church, Clonmel. Thomas was a wool merchant and
the son of Thomas Williams Priestley, wool merchant and his wife Elizabeth. They lived
at The Elms, Marlfield. Thomas died at Bank Place, Mallow aged 66 on 28.03.1942.
