William Williamson of 37 New Bridge Street, Strangeways, Manchester married Elizabeth
Lockett Leake eldest daughter of Robert Leake of 15 Islington Square, Salford in 1845.
William Williamson was the proprietor of Todd Burn’s Department Store in Mary Street.
The family lived at The Elms from 1866 to 1894. Elizabeth died 16.04.1888 at the Elms
and William died same place, late of 47 Mary Street in 1894. Both are buried at Mount
Jerome.
In the 1950's John McGuire a director of Brown Thomas of Newtown Park House, Blackrock
took over the Todd Burns store on Mary Street and renamed it Todco. It is now known as
Penneys.
1 John Arthur Williamson eldest son born circa 1848 lost at sea on 05.01.1867 aged 19
years on his return from Calcutta in the James Crosfield wrecked off the Isle of Man in
a gale.
2 William Lockett Williamson born circa 1850 married Clara Anne Andrews daughter of
Henry Andrews of Hastings, Stillorgan on 24.06.1874 at Stillorgan Parish Church.
William died 09.09.1881 aged 31 years at the Adelaide Hospital late of Brookfield,
Donnybrook and is buried at Mount Jerome. Clara and her 2 children were living with
her sister Mary Louisa Andrews at 10 Newtown Avenue in 1901 and by 1911 they were
living at 6 Belgrave Road, Blackrock.

2 William Arthur Lockett Williamson born 03.02.1877 at Bushfield Avenue and
died on 03.04.1880 aged 3 years at 13 Brookfield Terrace.
3 Eveleen Florence Williamson born 12.02.1879 at 13 Brookfield Terrace,
Donnybrook.
3 Robert Williamson born circa 1853 in Armagh. Robert a commercial traveller of Portadown
married Anna Frances Sharpe daughter of Thomas Sharpe of 11 York Street on
20.12.1877 at St Peter’s Church, Dublin. In 1901 the family were living at Brighton Road,
Rathgar.

months of Trafalgar Terrace, Monkstown and is buried at Mount Jerome.
6 Alfred Clive Williamson born circa January 1860 infant son died 20.08.1860 aged 7
months.
7 Louisa Mary Williamson born circa 1860 died 14.12.1865 aged 5 years and is buried at
Mount Jerome.
8 Henry Laurence Williamson born 02.01.1864 at Monkstown took Holy orders. Henry
of Larne married Edith Muriel Hodges on 17.06.1896 at Dorchester Abbey, Oxford.
Edith was the daughter of Henry Hodges of Netley, Blackrock. Henry was curate at St
Margaret’s Episcopal Church, Aberdeen in 1905 and went as priest in charge to Lochbuie
Isle of Mull until 1916. He later converted to the Roman Catholic Church, took up
teaching and lived for a time in Carlisle. He died suddenly on 07.04.1929 at The Gables,
The Quarry, St Leonards.
1 Alan Kennedy Williamson born circa 1898 was commission into the army in 1915.
He was wounded at the Battle of Arras and died from his wounds 10 days later.
9 Frank Powell Williamson born 26.01.1865 at Albany Grove, Monkstown graduated MA
Christchurch Cambridge and took Holy orders. Frank of 151 Upper Kensington Laen
Vauxhall, London. Frank was living at the Vicarage in Tipton, Staffordshire in 1891 and
in 1901 he was living in Aberdeen. In 1902 the Bishop decided not to institute Frank as
the Rector of St Margaret's, Aberdeen despite his nomination by the select vestry and
the support of the congregation. However 5 years later he returned as rector of St
Margaret's. In 1914 Frank was accepted into the Roman Catholic faith as an unmarried
man and was sent to train for the priesthood at St Benedict's in Inverness. In 1921 Frank
was a schoolmaster at King Edward's school, Bath and was living at the Central Private
Hotel, Bath. Frank of 3 Henry Street, Bath died on 23.05.1928 aged 63 years. His funeral
was held at St John’s Roman Catholic Church and internment was at Perrymead Cemetery.
