Stephen’s Church, Dublin. Witnesses: Joseph M Williams and James Watts. Ellen died on
13.03.1900 aged 53 years at 3 Grove Avenue. Informant: son Mervyn. John died
25.04.1922 aged 76 years at 50 Georges Avenue, Blackrock. Informant: Son-in-law J Thomas.

1 Mervyn James Williams born 21.06.1882 at Glenvar and attended school in
Booterstown. He enlisted in 1910 and served in South Africa, Egypt and with the
British Expeditionary Force in France and Flanders. Service No 6854 he was killed
in action on 16.05.1915 at Festubert and is commemorated on the Le Touret
Memorial, on the war memorial at S S Philip & James and on his parent’s headstone
at Deansgrange. He died unmarried.
2 Eleanor Kate Williams born 15.11.1883 at Glenvar, Merrion Avenue. Informant Jane
Williams of South Hill. Eleanor married John Thomas a widower and painter of 62
Donore Ave, SCR, Dublin son of William Thomas on 22.02.1917 at St Philip and St
James’s, Booterstown. Eleanor died on 26.03.1951 and John died on 08.06.1963.
They are buried at Deansgrange.

12.06.1919 died on 06.10.1919 at same place and was buried with her parents
at Deansgrange.

aged 44 years at Sir Patrick Duns Hospital late of 50 Georges Avenue, Blackrock
following a fall from scaffolding at rear of 90 Merrion Square and is buried at

4 Joseph Mills Williams born circa 1848 Wicklow married Isabella Watts, daughter of James Watts of
Booterstown on 27.12.1875 at the Parish Church, Stillorgan. Joseph was a gardener working at
South Hill House, Booterstown. Isabella died on 08.11.1876 aged 27 years at South Hill,
Booterstown and is buried at Stillorgan with her infant child.
1 Isabella Ellen Williams born circa 1876 died 10.11.1876 aged 7 days at South Hill and was
buried at Stillorgan graveyard.
Joseph married secondly Anne Glenn née Dillon a widow on 10.02.1879 at the Parish Church,
Delgany. Witnesses: William Thomas & George Campbell. Anne died on 24.12.1899 aged 53 years
at 4 Ashgrove Terrace, Dundrum. Joseph died on 10.11.1917 aged 68 years at 6 Greenville Avenue,
SCR the home of his daughter Catherine. Anne and Joseph are buried at Deansgrange together with
James and his wife Jane.

Hampshire married Elizabeth Matthews daughter of Samuel Matthews of South Brown
Street a Leather Manufacturer on 16.02.1921 at St Catherine’s Parish Church.
4 Violet Annie Williams born 13.12.1883 at Trim, Meath. Violet a munitions worker living
at Watford married William Ballantine of the Royal Army Medical Corps son of William
Ballantine on 02.11.1916 at the Parish Church, Donaghadee.
1 Isabella Mary Glenn born 26.07.1874 at Kilquade, Wicklow daughter of David Glen a
Sub-Constable and Anne Dillon and step-daughter to Joseph Mills Williams. In 1901
Isabella was living with the Williams family in Dundrum and by 1911 Isabella was the
Matron of the Cottage Hospital, Oakham. Isabella emigrated to Canada.
5 Emily Jane Williams baptised 03.03.1850 Newcastle died 26.04.1870 at South Hill aged 21 years and
was buried 28.04.1870 at Newcastle.
