Robert Ross Todd a Solicitor and Clerk of the Crown for County Down son of John Todd a Merchant
married Elizabeth Martin 3rd daughter of late Samuel Martin. The family mostly lived at North Great
Georges Street but in 1866 their place of residence was given as Newstead when they attended the
first Drawingroom of the Season given by the Lord Lieutenant and Lady Wodehouse at Dublin Castle
in 1866. Elizabeth a Widow was living at 49 Great Georges Street North in 1911.

2 Jane (Jeannie) Martin Todd born circa 1849 married William Stoker a Surgeon of 32 York
Street son of Edward Stoker MD on 05.02.1875 at St George’s Parish Church. Witnesses:
John Martin Ross Todd and Edward Stoker. The family were living at 34 Stephens Green
North in 1901 and by 1911 at 69 Leeson Street. William died on 14.11.1921 aged 78 years at
69 Lower Leeson Street and Janet died 01.12.1935 aged 86 years at 1 Warwick Terrace.

3 Charles Gibson Ross Todd born circa 1850. Charles of Newstead received Honours at an
examination of Junior Freshmen at Trinity College in 1867. Charles married Ellie Elise Jones of
Mount Salem, Stillorgan daughter of John Ormsby Jones on 29.01.1880 at Stillorgan Parish
Church. They were living at 10 Galloping Green in 1901 and 21 Galloping Green in 1911. Ellie
died on 03.05.1923 aged 73 years at the Cottage, Foxrock and is buried at Mount Jerome with her
parents. Charles died circa February 1832 aged 81 years at San Remo.
4 William Kirk Todd 3rd son of Belmont, Newry born circa 1852 died of Scarletina aged 3 years on
21.03.1855.
5 James Humphreys Ross Todd born circa 1854 married Louisa McMaster daughter of Edward
Carroll McMaster on 29.04.1885 at St Chrysostom’s Parish Church, Victoria Park, Manchester.
James a Bank Clerk in the Provincial Bank in College Green together with Henry Morgan also a
Bank Clerk had absconded with a large sum of money. They were arrested in Spain under an
extradition warrant. They were charged and pleaded guilty to the offenceand were sentenanced
to 5 years Penal Servitude.

Church, Leeson Park. Robert aged 13 was a Pupil at Mostyn House School in Cheshire in
1901.
2 Ida Louise Todd born 19.08.1888 at 47 Upper Leeson Street living with her Grandmother
at 49 Great Georges Street, Dublin in 1911.
6 Robert Archer Ross Todd 4th son born circa 1856 married Sarah Gertrude Dane only surviving
daughter of late William Auchinleck Dane of Killyreagh, Fermanagh on 05.08.1884 at Derryvullan
Church, Fermanagh. Robert a Solicitor filed for divorce in 1896 from his wife Sarah because of her
alleged adultery with Thomas W Bradshaw a clerk in the Ballyshannon Branch of the Provincial Bank
of Ireland. Robert married secondly Mary Elizabeth Bryans daughter of John Bryans MD of 1 College
Square North, Belfast on 09.03.1901 at St Ann’s Parish Church, Belfast. Robert died on 19.01.1912
aged 56 years from a self inflicted gunshot wound.
7 Henry Maxwell Ross Todd youngest son born circa 1862 married Mabel Grace Marriott only daughter
of late Francis Marrott on 23.06.1891 at St Margaret’s Church, Dunham, Massey, Cheshire. Dr
Ross-Todd died suddenly in a train on his way home on 16.12.1926.
8 Agnes Martha Mary Ross Todd born 19.01.1864 at 9 Burlington Road. Agnes was working in the
Census Office in Dublin on 03.04.1891 as mentioned in the London Gazette.
9 Anna Verona Florence Louise Ross Todd born circa 1866 a Registrar with the Girls Friendly Society
living with her Mother in 1901 and 1911. Anna died unmarried on 10.05.1945 aged 78 years at 4
Winton Road and is buried at Mount Jerome.
10 Edith Alice (Amy) Christine born 25.12.1867 at 49 Great Georges Street living with her Mother in 1911.
Edith died on 30.03.1944 at 4 Winton Road, Leeson Park and is buried at Mount Jerome.
