Arthur Jacob FRCSI born Knockfin, Maryborough in 1790 married Sarah Carroll daughter
of Coote Carroll of Ballymote, Sligo in 1824. Arthur Jacob MD FRCSI together with Dr Henry
Maunsell of Landsend, Stillorgan started the Dublin Medical Press in 1839. He was also
one of the founders of the City of Dublin Hospital.

Monkstown a Civil Engineer married Susan Murphy 3rd surviving daughter of Henry
C.B. MacMurrough Murphy late of Hume Street and grand-daughter of late Rev
Samuel MacMurrough Murphy of Offerlane on 25.03.1858 at Sattara, Bombay. By
1871 the family were living in Bromley, Kent.

Whooping Cough on 25.11.1861 at Sattara.

5 Archibald Hamilton Jacob MD FRSCI born 13.05.1837 at 23 Ely Place married Florence
Elizabeth McClean daughter of Francis McClean on 13.08.1862 at St Anne’s Church,
Dublin. Their country home was Brookvale, Stillorgan between 1870 and 1873.
Archibald like his father was an oculist. He succeeded his father as proprietor
and editor of the Dublin Medical Press in 1860 and founded the Irish Medical Directory.
Archibald died on 12.01.1901 at Ely Place and was buried at Mount Jerome. Florence
died 09.08.1912 aged 73 and was buried with her husband.
