Frederick Henry Hall son of Henry Hall of Rose Hill, Cork born baptised at Douglas on 20 May 1862 was
a champion racing cyclist in the 1880’s and a founder member of the Irish Automobile Club in 1901. He
married Emilie Charlotte Stewart Mitchell at St Thomas’ Church Belfast on 18 Apr 1888. Emily was the
daughter of Alexander Mitchell, merchant of Glencraig, Craigavad. Emilie died at Craiglands, Dalkey on
18 Sep 1904 aged 40 and was buried at Deansgrange.
1 Henry Mitchell Hall born 20 Jul 1889 at 37 Rugby Road, Belfast. He married Margaret Alison Pim
of Knocksinna on 15 Oct 1924 at St Ann's Church. Margaret was the daughter of H Leopold Pim.
They lived at Homestead, Sandyford Road from 1947 to 1962 and at Rosbarnagh, Foxrock from
1967. Henry was a director of R & H Hall and Waterford Provender Mills. He was also a director
and later chairman of Merchants' Warehousing Company.
2 Constance Emilie Hall eldest daughter born 26 Nov 1891 at Lansdown, Newtown, Co Waterford
married Roger James Hartley on 24 Mar 1924 at Dalkey Parish Church. Robert was a merchant of
Colombo, Ceylon and the second son of James H Hartley, Oaklands, Elstree in Herts.
Frederick secondly married Amy Theodosia Gage on 15 Mar 1909 at St Paul’s Church, Monkstown. Amy
was living at 2 Casement Villas and was the only daughter of Robert Charles Gage and Georgina Braddel.
She was also the granddaughter of Major General Ezekiel Gage of Rathlin Island and Ballycastle, Co Antrim.
Frederick was a corn & grain merchant and lived at Craiglands in Dalkey from 1909 to 1924 and moved to
to Ardmore where they lived from 1921 to 1947. He was a senior director of R & H Hall, grain importers,
director of the Corn Exchange Buildings Ltd and chairman of The Dublin Ports & Docks Board. He died
28 Feb 1947 at Ardmore, Stillorgan Road and was buried at Deansgrange. Amy died 29 Sep 1969 aged 83
at Lugduff, Killiney and was buried with her husband.
3 Alison Elizbeth Hall born 15 April 1910 Craiglands, Dalkey.
4 Amy Theodosia Hall born 13 Jul 1911 died 8 Aug 1914 at Craiglands and was buried at
Deansgrange.
5 Joan Gage Hall born 5 Apr 1914 at Craiglands died 17 Aug 1914 and was buried at Deansgrange.
6 Sylvia Margaret Hall born 7 Jan 1916 at Craiglands, Dalkey. Dr Hall married Rev Leslie Aidan Elliott
on 17 Oct 1939 at St Thomas’s Church, Mount Merrion of Knockmaroon, Lisburn, Co Antrim son of
Rev George Ruddell Elliott, late incumbent of Christ Church, Carysfort.
