Francis Moore Scott was the son of Thomas Christian Scott, merchant of Bullock and
Margaretta Smith. He married Elizabeth (Lizzie) Schoales MacJennett at Monkstown
Church on 31 Aug 1858. Elizabeth was the youngest daughter of John Whitelaw
MacJennett of Bray House. They lived at Island Bridge House. Lizzie died 17 Feb 1864
and was buried at Mount Jerome.
1 Frances Anna Scott born 28 May 1859 at Henrietta Place, Bullock. She married
Robert John Newell on 17 April 1883 at Kingstown Church.
Francis secondly married Georgina Lyons on 22 Jun 1865 at St Stephen’s Church.
Georgina was the eldest daughter of William Lyons, a solicitor and his wife Eliza Maria
Kelly of Marino Park, Mount Merrion Avenue and Wellington Road. Francis was a woollen
merchant of Scott Spain & Rooney. He was a church warden in Dalkey in 1862. He was
a commissioner for Kilmainham and retired in 1870. Francis was appointed to the
commission of the peace for the County of Dublin in 1872 and was church warden of St
Jude’s IN 1878. He was Hon Sec of the Chamber of Commerce in 1881 and appointed
assistant secretary to the Male and Female Masonic Schools in 1887. They lived at 70
Wellington Road in 1890 and at 12 Brighton Vale, Monkstown from 1892 to 1895. Francis
died 28 Apr 1897 at Brighton Vale, Monkstown and left £100 in personal estate.
Georgina died 18 Aug 1927 aged 81. Both are interred at St Brigid’s, Stillorgan.

3 Amy Constance Scott born 5 Aug 1867 at Island Bridge House married Robert
Dunn Cuscaden on 12 Feb 1890 at St Stephen’s Church, Dublin. Robert was a
dentist of Sligo and the son of William Henry Cuscaden (her cousin).

4 Arthur Edward Scott born 10 May 1870 at Island Bridge House married Nelle
Hipwell at St Ann’s Church, Dublin on 26 July 1898. Nelle was the daughter of
Abraham Hipwell of Spring Gardens, Queens, County. Arthur was secretary to the
Church of Ireland.
5 Mary Elinor Scott born circa 1874 died 8 Aug 1852 at Allandale, Newcastle, Co
Wicklow and left 6K in personal estate. She was interred at St Brigid’s Stillorgan.
6 George Irvin Scott born 2 Aug 1876 at Island Bridge House and died 4 Dec 1892 at
Brighton Vale. He was interred in St Brigid’s, Stillorgan.
7 Florence Mabel Scott born 10 May 1879 at Island Bridge House. She was living
with her mother at Monkstown 1901 and 1911. Florence died 19 Aug 1974 and
was interred in St Brigid’s, Stillorgan.
8 Helena Violet Scott youngest daughter born circa 1881 living with her mother in
Monkstown in 1901 and 1911. She died 11 Dec 1962 at Shiel’s Institution and was
interred at St Brigid’s Stillorgan.
9 Francis Lyons Scott born circa 1886 attended the Masonic School in Clonskeagh.
He was a bank official living with his mother at Monkstown in 1911. He married
Josephine Mary O’Moore on 6 Aug 1913 at Dublin Registrar’s Office. Josephine was
the daughter of William B O’Moore of Prospect House, Finglas. Francis worked for
Bank of Ireland and died 27 Jul 1948 at a Padua Nursing Home, Waterloo Road
late of Prospect House, Finglas and 19 Sea Road Sandymount. His funeral Mass
was held at St Mary’s Haddington Road and he was buried at Deansgrange.
Josephine died 21 Jul 1953 at 19 Sea Road Sandymount and was buried with her
husband.
1 Florence Edith Joan Lyons Scott born 20 Dec 1915 43 Clarinda Park East,
Kingstown. She married John Green on 17 Feb 1936 at St Canice’s Church,
Finglas. John worked for Bank of Ireland in Youghal.
2 Vivian Mary Scott born 2 Dec 1920 at Prospect House, Finglas. She married
Eamon Francis Collins on 4 Apr 1945 at St Canice’s, Finglas. Eamon was a
clerk living at Guilford Road, Sandymount and the son of Cornelius Collins, a
draper.
