Jeremiah D’Olier baptised on 31.08.1746 at St Werburgh’s Church son of Issac D’Olier and Joyce
Keen. Isaac was a Goldsmith at Cork Hill. Jeremiah married Jane Collins only daughter and heir
of Matthew Collins of Dublin in 1769. Jeremiah entered the Guild of Goldsmiths and was a Master
Goldsmith 1781-82. He had a Jewellers shop on Dame Street. He was High Sheriff of Dublin in 1788
and elected a member of the RDS on 16.01.1792. He was one of the original trustees of St George’s
Church circa 1800 and was one of the founders and early Governors of the Bank of Ireland. A
member of the Wide Streets Commission, D’Olier Street was named after him. The D'Olier family
lived at Collegnes from 1778 to 1869.
1 Isaac Matthew D’Olier, LLD MRIA eldest son married Margaret Ellinor Rutherford eldest
daughter of John Rutherford of St Daulagh’s Lodge, Dublin circa 14.09.1811. Isaac joined the
RDS in 1800. Isaac died 27.01.1855 at Collignes and Margaret died 23.12.1859. Will for Isaac
dated 1855.
1 Isaac Matthew D’Olier eldest son born circa 1811 married Sarah Rosanna Maziere
Rutherford 3rd daughter of late John Rutherford of Rutland Square and St Doulough’s
and widow of late Robert Maziere on 05.07.1860 at Booterstown Church. Isaac died
1887.
2 Sarah Rosanna D’Olier born circa 1814 married John George junior a Barrister of
Cahore on 17.10.1832 at Booterstown Church. Rosanna died on 11.06.1847 at 8
Fitzwilliam Square West. John remarried in 1848.

4 John Rutherford D’Olier 2nd son born circa 1819 married Helen Campbell Lawson
eldest daughter of James Lawson, Writer to the Signet, Edinburgh on 11.07.1849 at
Camoustie.
2 Edmund Leigh D’Olier died at Bois Florent Township of Saint Jean Le Blanc near Orleans, or
La Levée France on 29.07.1853*. Probate to son Dr Isaac Mathieu D’Olier of Orleans.
3 Sophia Isaac D’Olier born 13.10.1772 married James Foot of Banville, Co Down son of
Lundy Foote on 27.10.1795 at St Werburgh’s, Dublin. James died in September 1836 aged
76 years at Banville, Co Down. Sophia died 18.11.1858 aged 86 years at 10 Pembroke Place,
Dublin.
4 Cecilia D’Olier youngest daughter born circa 1793 married Philip Gowan of London on
20.10.1814 at Monkstown Church. Philip died circa 1857. Cecilia died circa 25.08.1860 at
Dulwich.
