Bernard Dolan born circa 1773, a farmer from Co Carlow. He married Maria Kennedy. Bernard died
8 Mar 1861 aged 88 at 110 Thomas Street, home of his son, and was buried at Glasnevin.
1 Patrick Dolan born circa 1812 in Carlow moved to Dublin. He was a Grocery & Spirit Dealer
of 60 & 110 Thomas Street. He married Margaret before 1860. Margaret died 12 Jul 1872
at Oakley Park Blackrock aged 50 and was buried in Glasnevin. No Issue found.
He secondly married Mary Josephine Dowling daughter of Patrick William Dowling of
Blackrock at St John’s Blackrock on 14 Oct 1872. Patrick was a Town Councillor of Ushers
Quay ward from 1869, a Guardian of South Dublin Union and was appointed an Alderman
in 1879. Mary died 4 Apr 1888 at Whitehall, Carysfort Avenue, Blackrock and was buried at
Glasnevin. Patrick died at Whitehall, Blackrock on 26 Jun 1888 aged 76.
1 Mary Josephine (May) Dolan born 24 Sep 1873 at Oakley Park was educated at the
Sacred Heart Convents at Mount Anville and Brighton. She journeyed to Australia
in 1895 returning the same year with her brother Patrick. She married Herbert
Charles Mooney, son of Morgan Mooney on 13 Sep 1896 at Donnybrook RC Chapel.
They were living in Baggot Street in 1911 and Herbert was an Oculist and Aurist and
a fellow of the RCSI. Herbert died 21 May 1948 aged 83 at 98 Morehampton Road
and Mary died at Harold's Cross Infirmary late of Morehampton Road on
27 Feb 1957.

2 Patrick Joseph Bernard Dolan eldest son born circa 22 Nov 1874 at Oakley Park. He
studied Law and travelled to Australia with his sister May for the benefit of his health
in 1895. He died 16 Mar 1916 of TB at Hampstead in Glasnevin.
3 Martha Maria Dolan born 20 Dec 1876 at Whitehall baptised at Blackrock married Otto
Krautwurst, a professor and son of Fraz Rudolf Krautwurst at Douglas in Cork on
20 Aug 1906. They had no issue in 1911. Otto died 18 Feb 1845 at Ballygihen Avenue and
Martha died at 24 Mellifont Avenue, Dun Laoghaire on 13 Apr 1957. Both were buried in
Deansgrange.
4 James Joseph Dolan born 17 Apr 1879 died 2 May 1879 at Whitehall, Blackrock.
5 James Joseph Dolan born 25 Jun 1880 at Whitehall, Carysfort Avenue attended Prior
Park school in Bath, and Clongowes Wood College. He was apprenticed to Ashlin and
Coleman, architects. He was a student and living with his sister and brother in law at
Baggot Street in 1901. He married Susan White, daughter of Patrick White, a solicitor
on 27 Jan 1909 at Mary Immaculate, Refuge of Sinners Church and was living at 15
Charleston Road, Rathmines in 1911 as was Susan's sister Helen. John died at
8 May 1946 at 68 Palmerston Road in Rathgar and left 12K in personal estate. His son
John Lovatt-Dolan was the informant.
2 Daniel Dolan of 15 Parliament-street was a stained paper manufacturer and dealer in oils
and colour and had works at Crane Lane. He was sued in 1860 for Breach of Promise of
marriage to Anne O’Connor, he had to pay 200 pounds plus costs. He was charged with
forgery and acquitted in 1862 and was declared bankrupt by 1863.
3 Martha Dolan married John Meagher of 17 Thomas Street at St Catherine’s Church on
13 Apr 1863.
