at Glasnevin. Mary Anne died at 14 Hardwick Street on 8 Dec 1908. Her son T Dalton the informant.

2 James Francis (Frank) Dalton born baptised at the Pro Cathedral in November 1852 was a
comedian playwright and actor. Frank was a travelling actor and was with the Hubert
O’Grady company in 1877 playing at theatre all over Ireland. He married Catherine Lynch
5 Jul 1899 at Berkley Road Church. Frank was living at Talbot Place and Catherine was the
daughter of William Lynch, a merchant of Drumcondra. Catherine was living with her 4
children at 3 Rayleigh Cottages, Pleasant Road, Southend on Sea in 1911. Frank died
21 May 1935 at Ossory Road and was buried at Glasnevin.
1 Louis Dalton born 24 May 1900 at 14 Turlough Terrace, Fairview. He was an author
and playwright. He married Ann Mulhall at Carlow Cathedral on 9 Feb 1925 and
they had one daughter. Ann was an actress and the daughter of David Mulhall. She
was famous for her role as Minnie Brennan in the Riordans. Louis died at the
Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth, St John's Wood, London, on 15 Jun 1951.

5 Marion D’Alton born circa 1863 was an actress and a member of the Charles Sullivan
Company. She married widower Charles Gaskin on 12 Mar 1886 at Aloysius Chapel in
Garnet Hill, Glasgow. Charles Gaskin born circa 1849 was a comedian and his stage name
was Charles Sullivan. He was the son of James Gaskin and was born in Stillorgan. His first
wife was Margaret Gilfoyle (Miss Marion Seymore was her stage name) who died from
blood poisoning aged 30 on 1 Apr 1882 at 45 Queen’s Square. She pricked her finger with
a needle when mending a costume and was buried at Glasnevin. She left behind 7 young
children. Charles had the Hibernian Company and presented Dion Boucicault’s plays such
as Colleen Bawn and The Shaughraun taking the lead role with his wife. He also took on the
lead roles In in Levers Handy Andy. Charles died on 27 Feb 1887 aged 38 at Liverpool and
was buried at Glasnevin.

2 Sep 1893 at 15 North George’s Place. His grandmother Mary A Dalton the
informant. Marion of 15 George Place secondly married John McAdam on
30 Oct 1895 at the Pro Cathedral. John was proprietor of the Donegal Vindicator,
Enniskillen Press and the Tyrone Herald. He was the son of Patrick McAdam and
Mary Gallagher of Ballyshannon. Marion died 27 Jul 1900 at East Port Ballyshannon,
Donegal.

Cathedral. Thomas was an actor and married Mary Hill on 20 Sep 1906 at Aughrim Street
Church. Thomas was resident at Hardwicke Place and Mary was the daughter of the late
Andrew Hill, a salesmaster. They were living at 2 in Viking Road, Stony Batter in 1911 and
at 46 Ard Ri by 1913. Thomas was working as a theatre attendant in 1913, a labourer in 1916
and for Army Ordnance in 1921. Thomas died 1 Oct 1927 at 46 Ard Righ and was buried at
Glasnevin. May was a member of The Third Order of Saint Francis and died aged 82 on
25 Dec 1959 at St Kevin’s Hospital and was buried with her husband.

Hospital late of 46 Ard Ri, Arbour Hill on 2 Dec 1950 and English and Australian
newspapers were asked to copy. She was buried at Glasnevin.

This may not be a son but he lived at 46 Ard Ri. Father’s name is given as Christopher
on the marriage register and could be an error. Christopher was a porter at the time of
his marriage and resident at Henrietta Place and Jane was the daughter of Christopher
Burke. He died at 46 Ard Ri on 1 Dec 1981.
10 Michael Angelo Patrick Dalton born 29 Nov 1872 at 1 Belvidere Court died 16 Jun 1877 at
1 Belvidere Court.
11 Francis Louis D’Alton born 29 May 1876 at 1 Belvidere Court. Louis died at 1 Belvidere Court
in 17 Sep 1876 aged 3 months.
