Francis West of Cloone, Co Leitrim married Elizabeth Beatty and were both deceased by 1820.
1 George Beatty West, born circa 1786, a solicitor living at Drumdarkin House, Co Leitrim.
He married Anne West on 1 Jan 1806. George was appointed a JP in 1824. Anne died
aged 78 in July 1856 at Drumdarkin Cottage and George died 18 May 1862.
1 Letitia H West born circa 1814 married Rev D Donaldson, curate of Tartarghan,
Armagh on 14 Sep 1837. Letitia died 19 Jan 1892 at St Marys Road, Dublin.

3 Susan Lloyd West baptised at Cloone on 26 May 1817 youngest daughter
baptised at Cloone Church on 26 May 1817 married John Simpson, Sub Inspector,
Constabulary on 1 Jul 1841 at Cloone Parish Church.
4 William Francis baptised at Cloone on 10 Dec 1820.
5 Eliza Frances West second daughter married George West of Euclid, Ohio at
Cloone Church on 4 Nov 1839.

2 John Beatty West second son born circa 1791 graduated Trinity in 1812 was admitted
Kings Inn in 1815. He married Eliza Felicia Burton on 8 Nov 1819 at St Peters. Eliza was the
only daughter of Charles and Anna Burton and was born in Lincoln in 1788. MP for Dublin
in 1836 and again in 1841. They lived at Stephen's Green, Dublin, and at Mount Anville from
1824 to 1842. John died 27 Dec 1841 aged 48 from influenza at Mount Anville and was the
first person to be buried at a vault under St Peter’s Church. He held 2000 acres of land in
Co Galway which was put up for rent after his death and his wine cellar was sold in 1846.
In 1856, Eliza sold 80 St Stephen's Green (now Iveagh House) to Benjamin Guinness for
2.5K. Eliza died at Bray 8 Oct 1870.
1 Anna Felicia West born circa 1822 eldest daughter married Croker Barrington, a
solicitor of Stephen’s Green at St Peter’s Church, Dublin on 12 Apr 1845. Croker was
the second son of Matthew Barrington. Croker later became 4th Baronet and
Anna became Dame Barrington.
1 Charles Burton Barrington eldest son was born in 1848 in Limerick. He was
educated at St Columba’s College, Rugby School and Trinity College. An
accomplished rower and rugby player he is credited with being the father of
Irish rugby.
2 Charlotte Beatty West born 1824 baptised at St Peters on 22 Jan 1825 married
Henry Vansittart Stonehouse at Madras on 18 Jun 1851 at Madras. Henry was the
ADC to the governor and the son of Sir Timothy Vansittart Stonehouse. Charlotte
died during a pregnancy in December 1857 at Sydney, New South Wales. Henry
later became the 4th Baronet on the death of his father in 1866 and died in 1885.

3 Charles Burton West, eldest son born13 Feb 1826 baptised at St Peters attended
Rugby School and graduated Trinity in 1844. He died 8 Aug 1850 from fever on a
shooting expedition at Monateddy, East Indies aged 24.
4 Margaret Alphonsine West third daughter born circa 1827 married her widowed
cousin, the Hon Sir William Westbrooke Burton at Madras in August 1849. He
was a judge and President of the Legislative Council, New South Wales, Australia.
5 Francis Jane West fifth daughter born 1829 baptised at St Peters died 15 Jul 1858 at
Whitby, Yorkshire.

7 Francis Edmund West born January 1836 at Stephen’s Green. As last surviving son
he married Jane Caroline Adams of St Stephen's Green on 3 Apr 1867 at St Kevin’s
Church. Jane was the eldest daughter of Robert Adams, Surgeon to the Queen and
of 22 Stephen’s Green. Francis was a Colonel in the Madras Staff Corps.
3 William Claudius West Solicitor born circa 1796 married Eleanor Wilhelmina Nesbitt circa 1822.
Eleanor was the eldest daughter of Henry Nesbitt of Aughamore, Co Longford. William was
insolvent in 1849 and died at Park Avenue Sandymount, late of Cloone, Co Leitrim on
12 May 1851. Eleanor died 23 Dec 1871 aged 73 at 1 Graham Terrace, both are buried at St
Mathew’s, Ringsend.
1 George John Beatty West born circa 1827. He was resident in Sandymount and
married Jane Gannon at St Peter’s Church on 14 May 1847. Jane was resident at
Wexford Street and the daughter of James Gannon.
2 Eleanor West married James Russell on 19 Sep 1850 at Donnybrook Parish Church.
4 Claudius West fourth son born circa 1804 was educated at Elphin School. He was admitted
Kings Inns in 1820. Jane West, Dublin, spinster signed the affidavit as his parents were
deceased. He lived at Streamstown, Co Westmeath. He was shot on 24 Apr 1840 and died
a bachelor a few days later. The Lord Lieutenant offered £150 reward for the discovery of the
murderers. Eleven people were charged with his murder.
