John Alymer only son of Michael Aylmer of Courtown, County Kildare married Margaret Aylmer,
daughter of Sir Fenton Aylmer of Donadea Castle at Donadea Church on 29 Dec 1828. John was a
JP and died 5 Mar 1857 at 10 Haddington Terrace, Kingstown. Margaret died 26 Dec 1891 aged 92
at 28 Highfield Road, Rathgar.
1 Jane Grace Aylmer, eldest daughter born circa 1830 died a spinster aged 66 at Sir Patrick
Dun's Hospital, late of 9 Montpelier Parade on 28 Mar 1896 and left 5K in personal estate.
2 Michael Henry Aylmer, only son born 30 May 1831 Co Kildare married Charlotte Margaret
Hendrick on 5 Feb 1853 at Naas Parish Church. Charlotte was the youngest daughter of
Hans Hendrick of Kerdiffstown, Co Kildare. Michael died 4 Apr 1885 at 75 Lower Leeson
Street. Charlotte died at Hermitage on 4 Nov 1893 and left 5K in personal estate.
1 John Algernon Aylmer eldest son born 22 Dec 1853 graduated Trinity College,
Cambridge He joined the 4th Dragoon Guards, served in Egypt in 1882 and
attained the rank of major. He married Blanche (Mrs George Montgomery), third
daughter of T Eveleigh Wyndham of Clearwell Court, Glouchester on 13 Apr 1886
at Clearwell Church. They lived at Courtown, Co Kildare. Blanche died at Mayfair,
London on 8 Mar 1895. John died 25 Aug 1924 at Courtown, Co Kildare and left
17K in personal estate.

Church on 3 Mar 1909.
2 John Wyndham Aylmer born 9 Mar 1889 at Moorefield House, Newbridge.
2 Algernon Ambrose Michael Aylmer born 23 Jun 1857 was commissioned into the
Dublin City Artillery in 1877 and resigned his commission in 1878. He was living at
37 Rutland Square in 1880 to 1885 with his mother and brother Hans. He was a
keen sportsman and he and his brother Hans played tennis and cricket and were
on the committee of the Kildare Lawn Tennis Tournament. Algernon married
Frances Sophia Dennis daughter of Meade Caulfield Dennis of Fortgranite at St
Peter’s Church, Kiltegan, Co Wicklow on 10 Jun 1886. The lived at Hermitage from
1886 to 1893. He was a land agent to Captain Meade J C Dennis, Thomas Hendrick
and also to his brothers and the late Earl of Aldborough. He died 6 Feb 1933 at
Sallins and Frances died 20 Jan 1937 and both were buried at Maudlins graveyard.
1 Richard Mead Aylmer born 5 Oct 1887 at Hermitage married Mona Alexander.
2 Theodora Margaret Aylmer born 21 Feb 1892 at Rathmore Naas married
Roger Ferdinand Mainguy on 8 Jun 1915 at St John’s Church, Kill. Roger was
resident in Guernsey and the son of Major Ferdinand Mainguy. Roger died
30 Jun 1959 and Theodora died 2 Dec 1977 and they were buried at Maudlins
graveyard.
3 Florence Mary Aylmer, only daughter married 21 Mar 1882 at St Anne’s Church,
Dublin Lieut Col Walter Joseph Borrowes of Bornere, Portarlingon. Walter was the
son of Sir Erasmus Dixon Borrowes. Walter died at Plantation, Monkstown aged 58
on 11 Sept 1895 and Florence secondly married William Gore on 1 Jun 1895 at Bray
Parish Church. Florence died 3 Aug 1907 and was buried at Maudlins graveyard.
4 Hans Hendrick Aylmer born 26 May 1856 graduated Trinity in 1880. He married
Florence Edwards at Leeson Park in 1886. He bore the arms of name of Kendrick
after the death of his uncle Thomas Kendrick. a barrister at law retired by 1901.
They had 4 children of whom 3 survived until 1911. They lived at Kerdiffstown from
1901 to 1911. Hans died at Leeson Park in 1917 aged 61 and Florence died
8 Apr 1940. Both were buried at Maudlins.
1 Charles Percy Aylmer born 26 Aug 1887 at Greenwood, Avoca Avenue,
Blackrock died 1 Dec 1906 and was buried at Maudlins graveyard.
2 Muriel Charlotte Aylmer born 16 May 1889 at Mount Street, Dublin.
3 Violet Lucy Aylmer born 13 Sep 1891 at Kerdiffstown, Co Kildare.
4 Gerald Hans Hendrick-Aylmer born 23 Jul 1897 at Kerdiffstown, Co Kildare. He
was educated at Bilton Grange, Wellington, and at Sandhurst, and obtained his
commission in the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers in July 1915. He went to France in
July 1916 and was killed in action on 16 Apr 1917.
3 Frances Aylmer, second daughter died at Queenstown, Cork on 30 Sep 1857.
4 Margaret Aylmer born 9 Mar 1834 married Charles W Wright of Downings on 17 Jul 1856 at
St Mark’s Church, Dublin.
5 Emily Aylmer, fourth daughter born 8 Nov 1835 married Thomas Chapman at Monkstown
Parish Church on 8 Nov 1859.
6 Cecilia Aylmer born circa 1836 died a spinster at Rosetta, Naas on 23 Sep 1918 aged 82 and
was buried at Maudlins graveyard.
7 Elizabeth Aylmer born circa 1837 died a spinster on 8 Jun 1900 at 9 Montpelier Parade aged
63.
8 Lucy Harriet Aylmer, youngest daughter married Edward Louis Hack at Rome on 22 Jun 1863.
