John Garnett Armstrong of Lower Gardiner Street married Georgina Packenham Swan, youngest
daughter of Graves Chamney Swan and Mary Lombard of Obelisk Park on 12 Feb 1841 at
Abbeyleix. John was a secretary of the Bank of Ireland and owner of the cargo ship Paraguay.
John died 21 Nov 1878 at 5 De Vesci Terrace and Georgina died 29 Apr 1880 at 8 Belgrave Square,
the home of her son Graves and was buried at Mount Jerome.
1 Mary Frances Armstrong, only daughter married Henry Marcus Kemmis, MD of Kilternan
in Monkstown Church on 27 Oct 1870.
2 Owen John Armstrong born circa 1841 lived at 3 Brighton Tce., Monkstown and was
secretary to the Commissioners of Irish Lights. He died 6 Apr 1905 at Bournemouth.
3 Graves Chamney Armstrong born circa 1849 married Maria McKerschal from Scotland
and they lived at 8 Belgrave Square West, Monkstown. Maria's two sisters Ronald
McTavish and Annie McKerchal lived with them. Graves died 17 Dec 1906 and was buried
at Deansgrange. Ronald McTavish was buried with Graves in 1907.

2 Ronald Armstrong born circa 1875 at Kildare.
4 George Richard Armstrong born circa 1850. He was a physician and surgeon and
dispensary doctor of Blackrock for 9 years living at 10 Brighton Villas, Seapoint before
moving to Hillside Foxrock in 1887 when he took over as dispensary doctor of Stillorgan. He
married Edith Jane Levinge of Westmeath 20 Oct 1877. He was agent and registrar for King’s
Hospital School, Blackhall Place, and a member of the RDS, being elected on 17 April 1890.
He was also a member of the RSPCA. He died 1929 at Hillside, Foxrock and Edith died
3 Jan 1947 aged 89 at Bloomfield, Newcastle, Co Wicklow.
1 Edith Packenham Armstrong, only child born prematurely on 20 May 1889 at Hillside
married Edward Halovan Bennett, Sub-Bank Manager, of Framemount, Cootehill,
Co Cavan, the son of Major General Robert Bennett at Kill Church in 6 Aug 1912. The
reception was held at Hillside.
