James Alexander Wiseman son of John Wiseman, a land steward from Morayshire, Scotland
and his wife Mary Kiernan. He was a steward working at White Hall, Drogheda. He married
Mary spence on 17 Jun 1879 at Palace Street Meeting House in Drogheda. Mary from Duleek
Street, Drogheda was the daughter of John Spence, a dairyman. They they had six children of
whom five survived in 1911. James was a land steward on the Ballymahon estates managed
by Ambrose Boole who died in 1908. By 1911 they were living at Maghera More,
Dunganstown East, Wicklow and James was working as an agricultural labourer for Col Leslie
H Ellis of Sea Park, Maherymore. John was land steward at Saunders Grove working for the
Tynte family by 1915. He died 22 Jul 1922 at Saunders Grove.
1 John Wiseman born circa 1881 died aged 14 on 24 Mar 1895 at Park Place.
2 Mary Ann Wiseman born circa 1883 in Longford working as a domestic servant in the
Bole Household in 1901. She married William Smyth, a land steward on 21 Oct 1908 at
Holy Trinity Church, Eglish. William was the son of James Smyth, a farmer. They were
living at Palmerstown Demesne in 1901.

3 Jessie Alice Wiseman born 31 Dec 1883 at Park Place. She married James Vance on
23 Nov 1903. James was a butcher and the son of George Vance, a farmer. By 1911 three
of their four children had survived and they were living in Ballymahon town.
1 James Alexander Vance born 13 Nov 1907 at Ballymahon, Co Longford staying with
his grandparents in Wicklow in 1911.
4 William Samuel (Willie) Wiseman born 11 Jul 1885 at Park House, Ballymahon Co Longford.
He was an agricultural labourer. He married Margaret (Maggie) Hutchinson on
31 May 1909 at Holy Trinity Church, Eglish. Margaret was living in Athlone and was the
daughter of William Hutchinson, a farmer. They were living at Funshoge, Wells, Co Wexford
by 1911. By 1950 they were living at Grange Cottages and William worked as a gardener.
William died 17 Nov 1961 at Simpson’s Hospital, Dundrum.
1 Gerald Wiseman born 29 July 1910 at Thomastown, Kings County. He was a factory
worker resident at Moorstown, Caddagh and married Maria Anderson on
3 Aug 1942 at St Mary’s Church, Delvin. Maria was resident at Rureagh House,
Kirubblin, Co Down and the daughter of George Anderson, a farmer. They lived at
Grange Cottages from 1950 and had at least two children. They moved to Sycamore
Avenue in Kells.

3 John Henry Wiseman born 2 Apr 1913 at Wells, Co Wexford.
4 Florence Wiseman born 9 Oct 1915 at Ballard, Tullamore. She married Sydney
Kearney, a saw doctor resident at Shillelagh on 29 Nov 1939 at Shillelagh Parish Church.
Florence was living at Ballynulta, Shillelagh and Sydney was the son of Thomas Kearney,
a farmer.
5 James Alexander Wiseman born 8 Feb 1888 at Park Place living with his parents in 1911.
He married Elizabeth McCabe on 24 Oct 1917 at Trim. Lizzie died on 29 Jun 1937 at the
Royal Victoria Hospital. John was land Steward at Saunders Grove working for Miss Violet
Tynte and secondly married Harriet Lucy Edwards on 27 Mar 1940. He died on
12 Nov 1950 at the Adelaide Hospital.
6 George Edmund Wiseman born 16 Jun 1891 living with his parents in 1911.
