months at Willsbrook, Lucan and is buried at St Paul’s Church, Dublin.
2 John Wills eldest son of John Forbes Wills born circa 1854 married Mary Helen Scott
daughter of Robert Charles Scott a Surgeon in the Royal Navy on 02.02.1881 at St Paul’s Church,
Hammersmith. Mary died on 11.09.1890 aged 28 years at Willsbrook.
1 Mary Emily Wills born 08.12.1882 at 40 Lower Baggot Street, Dublin living at Margate in
1911 with her sisters Frances and Kathleen.
2 Frances Elizabeth Wills born 09.01.1884 at Willsbrook.
3 John Scott Wills born 03.08.1885 at Willsbrook, Lucan. John’s coming of age in August
1906 was celebrated by all on the estate. John married Blanche Graeme Croghan younger
daughter of William Croghan an RIC County Inspector on 25.09.1906 at Tralee Parish
Church. John was a Lieutenant in the Royal Garrison Army from 1914-1919. He had
served and been severely wounded in the war. Blanche went to Canada with her father
William, mother Emma, sister Evelyn and daughter Gladys. John died suddenly in 1924
aged 38 years at 29 Denbigh Street, Pimlico.
1 Gladys Mary Scott Wills born 08.08.1907 at Portobello House of Willsbrook,
Lucan living in Canada aged 13 years in the 1921 Census.
4 Kathleen Wills born 28.03.1887 at Willsbrook, Lucan.
John Wills a Widower married Mary Howard Kirkwood daughter of Andrew Kirkwood of Esker
House on 20.07.1893 at Esker House, Lucan. John died on 06.10.1895 aged 41 years at Esker,
Lucan. Mary was living in 1901 with her son Samuel at the home of her father Andrew Kirkwood
in Cloongownagh, Roscommon.
5 Samuel Torton Wills born 23.10.1895 at Willsbrook. Samuel a colonel in the Indian Army
Ordnance Corps married Phyllis Hawkins daughter of Ernest John Hawins on 07.07.1923
at Lahore, Bengal, India. Samuel died on 25.04.1947 and is commemorated at Brookwood
Military Cemetery.
3 William Samuel Wills born circa 1855 died of scarlatina on 14.12.1857 aged 2 years and 4 months at
Willsbrook, Lucan.
4 Son Wills born September 1859.
5 Emily Wills only daughter born circa 1861 died on 27.09.1866 aged 5 years at 24 Longford Terrace,
Monkstown of Willsbrook, Lucan.
6 James Forbes Wills born circa 1861 in Dublin. He and his mother were living at Leixlip House (now
the Leixlip House Hotel) in 1901. In 1907 Leixlip House and Ivy House In Leixlip were put up for sale.
By 1909 he was a retired farmer living at Sefton House, Galloping Green. James was living at
Westcliff-on-Sea in 1924 when he identified the body of his nephew John Scott Wills. James died a
bachelor on 29.10.1944 of 156 Westborought Road, Westcliff-on-Sea.
